The history of the Margate Air Force Base and its gift to the community is a long and proud one. The base was founded in 1941 by the United States Army, and it played an important role during World War II. In 1945, the air force relocated to Margate from Goodlettsville, Tennessee. It was here that the base began its tradition of giving back to the community. From 1951-1968, Margate AFB was home to Project Ultimex, which was responsible for rebuilds at many military installations throughout America. One of these projects was Project Ultimex at Margate AFB. This project involved transferring 1,500 acres of land from Hardee County to Margate AFB in order to create a new training range and munitions production facility. The project also included creating a number of buildings on campus including barracks, ammunition storage facilities, aircraft hangars and more. In 1978-1981, Project Medusa took place at Margate AFB. This project involved building five small towns within a radius of the airport in order to provide support for local residents as they underwent renovations or updates to their homes during this time period. These projects were part ofOperation Homefront II which focus on improving infrastructure around communities in Northeast Florida during times of economic hardship or social unrest. Today, Operation Homefront continues withProject Brave New World which is focused on renovating schools within a radius of Fort Myers Beach Airport inFLA . Additionally , numerous other projects are ongoing acrossMargate AFB such as $2 million worth of upgradestothe headquarters building that will improve employee efficiency; $1 million for new fencing around campus;and renovationof several gymnasiums as well as an additiontothe library).

Margate, Florida is a town located in Brevard County, Florida. It had a population of 34,604 as of the 2010 census. The name "Margate" came from the nearby cape that was called "Margate Head." The first settlers arrived in 1836 and built their house on land that is now the downtown area. They were farmers who raised corn and cotton. By 1840, they had two stores and a post office. The town developed when railroad tracks were built through the area in the late 1800s. Trade began to increase when plantations were opened up in central Florida. In 1903, Margate became an incorporated municipality with its own government and school system. In 1962, Margate annexed neighboring towns Palm Bay to form a new city with a population of over 100,000 people. However, this annexation failed because Palm Bay's voters did not want to be part of something bigger than themselves. In 2000, Margate reverted back to its former independent status under the name of Margate Township

Margate is a small town located in Duval County, Florida. The population was 7,362 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Duval County and home to the Margate Naval Air Station. The Town of Margate was founded on August 16, 1892 by George Waddell and James Denny. The name is derived from the words "margaret" (a type of flower) and "duval" (a body of water). The first store in Margate opened on October 5, 1892. The original store was built by J.D. White & Sons, a grocery firm which later became known as White's Pharmacy. In 1903, Waddell donated land for a school which would become Margate High School; construction began that year and graduated its first class in 1907. In 1912, the United States Congress established the Duval County Memorial Airport adjacent to Margate Naval Air Station in order to promote aviation development within Duval County; it remains one of the busiest airports in Florida today with over 120 different air carrier flights per day! In 1935, President Franklin D Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9265 which called for new land acquisition withinDuval County for use as military airfields; this led to increased activity at Margate Naval Air Station which included both active duty and reserve military flying operations until 1949! In 1944-1945 World War II Japanese forces occupying America used Margate Naval Air Station as an internment camp; approximately 1,500 American servicemen were held here during World War II! On December 15th 1941 Japan attacked Pearl Harbor resulting in America entering World War II; after months of planning by Admiral Nimitz's Joint Chiefs of Staff Task Force 8 Marcus Island was selected as site for building what would eventually become known as Navy Base USF-5 - now known as Marine Corps Base Alachua - located just north of present day Margat
Margate was founded in 1875 by the Margate Canning and Manufacturing Company. The company made canned goods and other food products. In 1922, the Margate-based Pabst Brewing company merged with A.G. Laing & Sons, a brewery in Liverpool, England. The Laing Brewery property became the nucleus of modern Margate, Florida which opened its doors to the public on December 3, 1932. The city's first store was located at 9th Street and Atlantic Avenue. It was replaced by a new store on University Boulevard in 1936 which functioned as an importer/distributor of local beer for restaurants and bars throughout Southwest Florida. In 1975, Margate joined forces with Daytona Beach to form the Daytona Beach-Margate Combined Statistical Area (CSA). In 1984, The Coca Cola Company separated from PepsiCo and incorporated its own bottling plant within the city limits of Margate proper—the first such plant in South Florida—making it one of only two U.S.-owned Coca Cola Bottling plants outside metropolitan New York City (the other is in Atlanta). As part of this corporate split, marketing assets were transferred from Coke’s parent company Texaco to newly created Coca-Cola Poland S.A., headquartered in Warsaw, Poland; however sales operations continued to be conducted from Coke’s former headquarters at 801 Duval Street until 2006 when that building closed down due to pollution concerns brought about by Hurricane Katrina
