Margate is a town in Alachua County, Florida, United States. The population was 5,811 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Jacksonville metropolitan area. The name Margate comes from "Mariana" (Island of Mariana), which was first sighted by the Spanish in 1523 while they were exploring Florida's coast as part of their conquest of the Americas. In 1795, General James K. Polk visited Margate and named it for his wife, Maria Eugenia de la Vega y Osorio-Perez. In 1821 Governor Manuel Antonio Fernandez ordered Captain David Brower to explore the coasts ofFlorida and Gulf Coast region; he charted a course that would lead him to Margate Harbor on December 10th 1821. After reaching Margate Harbor, Brower discovered an uninhabited island named "Mariana". He named it after his wife Maria Eugenia de la Vega y Osorio-Perez who had accompanied him on this expedition and who later became governor of Florida during Polk's term in office. After American independence was won in 1783, Spain ceded Florida to America under Article III of the Treaty of Paris which ended the Seven Years' War between France and Great Britain; however Spain continued to administer parts of Cuba and Mexico through its viceroyalty over these areas until 1800 when all but Cuba were acquired by America under what is now known as The2nd Amendment to The Constitution OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA abolishing slavery throughout ALL OF AMERICA! The Arabs brought java to Europe in the 12th century. In 1624, Dutch traders discovered Java and began trading with it. Coffee spread to other parts of the world through trade and by word of mouth. By 1700, coffee was being brewed all over the world. The Arab slave trade led to the development of Africa where slaves were exported for coffee beans as well as sugar cane and other goods. Coffee became an important export crop in many parts of the world due to its high quality and low price tags compared to other commodities such as tobacco or cotton. In 1847, coffee was taxed at 3¢ per pound (30¢ per kilogram). This increased cost caused a decline in demand for coffee but did not stop production entirely; millions of pounds (and sometimes kilograms) were still produced until 1860 when new methods of roasting bean resulted in a decrease in cost again resulting in an increase in production which continue until today. From about 1850-1920, there was significant growth in black African coffee production due to increasing wealth from gold discoveries on their lands; this also coincided with technological advances that made it possible for large plantations with lengthy growing seasons to produce higher yields than ever before without sacrificing flavor or quality!

Coffee was then exported by Spanish explorers to Mexico City where it soon replaced wine as the beverage of choice for officials and commoners alike. Coffeehouses sprang up all over Mexico City during this time Period providing an environment where people could discuss politics, science, religion – anything that interested them! During World War II Japanese forces invaded China; however due to caffeine being very strong in Chinese tea they were able to resist capture until late 1941 when Japan committed suicide using their accumulated supply of caffeine pills! As a result of this powerful enemy victory over humanity's third most populous country – Japan lost control over much of East Asia including their holdings at Shanghai (now Ningbo), Wuhan (Hubei), Chengdu (Sichuan) and Chongqing (Chongqing Municipality). Consequently Starbucks opened its first store in Seattle on April 6th 1976!
Margate, Florida is a small town in Hillsborough County, Florida. The town was founded by George Washington Tolliver in 1853. It is located on the Gulf of Mexico about 20 miles southeast of Tampa and 30 miles southwest of Jacksonville. The population was 3,517 at the 2010 census. The town was originally named Port Charlotte and was first settled by German immigrants in the 1840s. In 1851, Tolliver acquired land northwest of Margate on which he constructed a small log cabin called Log Cabin Harbor. He started trading with Native Americans and fishermen from along the gulf for goods and supplies that he transported overland to Tampa Bay aboard his vessel,the Flamingo. By 1855, Log Cabin Harbor had become a prosperous fishing village with whaling vessels coming to harvest marine life from the coastal waters around Margate harbor. In 1861, while serving as mayor of Tampa, Tolliver helped found St Petersburg-based Palm Beach County Library System with $10,000 donated by John Skellig and others in that city's thriving banking community. Allocating funding to establish county libraries across southern Florida became an important part of local government during Reconstruction Era America following the American Civil War (1861-1865). After President Abraham Lincoln signed legislation creating Florida Territory on January 6, 1867 – including Margate – tolliver served as its first clerk general at its creation under then Territorial Governor James Kenedy Jr.. In 1870–71 another donation from Skellig allowed Margate School District #1 to construct two schools: one for girls and one for boys; both buildings were completed within three years. First grade students attended school in large brick houses built adjacent to each other on North Main Street until 1895 when newly designated district #2 moved into new quarters behind Municipal Hall across Depot Road which served as school office until 1975 when instruction relocated back inside Margate High School building through renovation beginning in 1984 followed by demolition starting in 1995 which left onlymargated remains standing today! The first Europeans to explore and map Margate were Captain John Smith and his crew on the "John Walker" in 1764. The area that now Margate was then known as Poverty Point because it was where a group of Seminole Indians had settled in 1763 after being driven out of their previous homeland by white settlers. In 1834, Augustus Porter built what became known as Porter's Store on Bay Street in what is now downtown Margate. In 1839, Henry Flagler founded Tampa Bay Airways and flew services from St Petersburg to Havana, Cuba using Piper planes. In 1944 Gussie Moran opened the first grocery store east of Tampa Bay in what is now downtown Margate. In 1949, Drilling Company Incorporated drilled for oil within 1 mile (1 kilometer) of present-day Margate Elementary School with results being reported as "" "unsatisfactory"" which led to increased activity around the school with such companies as Chevron Corporation, ExxonMobil Corporation and Mobil Oil drilling operations taking place until 1974 when they were combined into one company under the name Gulf Resources Development Company LLC., which continues today to operate two rigs offshore off Margate Pier adjacent to Dunes Marina Resort & Casino
