Maga Coffee is a coffee company that has been in business since 1978. The Margate location was established in 1978 and started roasting coffee. In 1989, the company got its own roastery and began to produce their own beans. In 2001, they opened up a second store in Fort Myers, Florida. Maga Coffee now has four stores throughout Florida including one in Margate. The first president of Maga Coffee was John Fenton who also founded the now defunct JB's Cafeteria chain in Margate. CEO of Maga Coffee is Donnie Hale who has held the position for over twenty years. Some of the other notable employees at Maga Coffee have included David Kapp (presidential brewer from 1992-1994), Tim Harrell (founder and CEO of High Point Brewing Company) and Greg Palumbo (founder, CEO and COO of Wachovia Financial Corporation). Maga Coffee produces about two hundred pounds of beans each week which goes into different blends such as Ethiopian Yirgacheffe, Colombian Supremo, Nicaraguan Biscuit Stout and Latte Americano. They also offer sweeteners like Stevia or Maple Syrup which are added to their coffee after it’s roasted but before it’s bottled or sold to consumers

The Margate coffee industry began in the early 1920s when a small family-owned grocery store, The Grocery and Coffee House, started selling coffee. By the late 1920s, coffee was being sold at local cigar stores as well. In 1927, The Grocery and Coffee House moved to its current location on State Road 7 in Margate. In 1936, the first Dutch-owned grocery store in Florida opened in Margate and began selling coffee. Coffee continued to be sold at local cigar stores until the early 1990s when it became an exclusive Dutch market product. Since 1994, The Grocery and Coffee House has been the only remaining shop in Margate that still sells coffee.

At that time, he noted that there was an “ excelente café negro” (black coffee) located in what is now Bangkok, Thailand. The Portuguese also discovered and traded with these regions during this time so it is possible that they also encountered black coffee while searching for new sources of trade. Regardless, black coffee was known to be delicious and had a fruity flavor which greatly appealed to Europeans. In 1824, Antonio José de Magalhães founded the first Brazilian company that would become known for producing white maga coffee. This company eventually becameknown as Companhia Brasileira do Maga Coffee (CBM). At its peak in 1872-1875, CBM produced more than 2 million pounds of maga coffee per year! Additionally, other companies soon sprung up around the world providing similar products including Dutch traders Janssen and Peeters who introduced roasting techniques into European markets; Guatemalan beans producerjaguarindo; Indonesian Keraton Kecantikan (IKA); Ethiopian Amharic Kefir; Turkish Türkçe Yağmur ; Serbian Hristiyan Kislic In 1911-1912 a group of Germans visiting Brazil decided to start their own production of white maga coffee under the name German Coffee Company. One reason for starting this company was because Brazil refused to provide them with any help growing or exporting their beans! Eventually, all German Coffee Company operations were transferred back to Germany after World War I ended. After World War II ended however, all production reverted back to Brazil until 1996 when two Brazilian entrepreneurs purchased all assets and reopened the company under the name Brazillion Coffee Corporation Ltd..

Margate, Florida is a small town in Hendry County, Florida. It is located on the eastern coast of Monroe County, about 24 miles (38 km) north of Jacksonville and 29 miles (46 km) south of Fort Walton Beach. In 2000 Margate had a population of 714 people. The town was named for Margate Point on the Atlantic Ocean. The history of Margate begins with the first settlement in 1836 by John Prentice and James Morton. They were followed by Drury and others who established farms around what is now downtown Margate. By 1870 there were over 100 residents living in downtown Margate, most of whom were farmers or fishermen. In 1898, Captain George Aiken disembarked his ship "Herald" on Point Lookout to explore the bays that surrounded Havana Bay and found them rich with oil reserves which led to the development of this area as an oil-producing region. The early settlers also used this location for farming purposes until they discovered Shell beach oil well at Siesta Key in 1924 which led to extensive drilling operations along both coasts by Governor Royce Coleman Jr., opening up new opportunities for development near Margate. Oil production ceased after World War II but resumed following passage of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1989 which allowed multiple companies to drill off Florida's west coast including EOG Resources Corporation and Marathon Oil Corporation among others. This reopened many old gas wells throughout centralFlorida as Mobil Sheets Pipe Line Company drilled millions of feet from 1949 until 1977 when it merged into ConocoPhillips Canada Inc.. Development continued through several ownerships before being sold to Marathon Oil Corporation who rechristened it Marathon Park Oil Field; later that year BP bought it from Marathon Petroleum Corporation and continues operation today under its current name - BP Exploration & Production Incorporated (BPEP). Downtown Margate experienced significant redevelopment during the late 1990s/early 2000s spurred by increased visitation from nearby Jacksonville due to new Interstate 75 construction; however, much progress has been undone since then as developers have not invested in needed infrastructure such as water service, sidewalks or trash collection; increasing competition from larger cities has also made life difficult for small towns like Margate which rely upon tourism revenue alone to stay afloat economically.
