As he sailed through the area, he noted a large river running through it and named it "Cockpit River." In 1834, Ferdinand Magellan discovered South America while sailing across the Pacific Ocean. After days of exploration, he sighted what would become known as Santiago Island and named it after his discoveries. A few years later, Captain John Fitch chartered a ship called Enterprise to sail from Havana, Cuba across to Santiago Island. He brought along an assortment of maritime gifts for local citizens and explorers who had already explored the island: cannons (which still exist today), statues of saints (including one of Saint Teresa), musical instruments, clothes and other items for native people. It wasn't until 1906 that Miami Garden began receiving tourists from around South Florida with their own vessels. That year, Captains Edward Jablonski and Augustus Deecker made a trip down the “Cockpit River” on their steamboat Enterprise which took them all around our city before docking at Hyde Park near present-day Jackson Avenue And Flagler Street just south of Veterans Memorial Coliseum – home then of both Miami Heat basketball games played at this venue as well as many other events over those years! This trip was significant because they became the first white men ever to visit our city! In 1912-1913Captain George Waring visited us on his luxury yacht Americana during our season at Key Biscayne beach; aboard his vessel were several crates filled with Corvettes including two brand new LSTs (Large Ship Transports) – these are still extant today outside museum adjacent to USS Constitution Museum Annex where we have moved them out into open air once again! Other notable visits by captains during this time include Ernest Hemingway on May 30th 1915 when he spent three days visiting various businesses & attractions within walking distance from downtown; Admiral Thomas CUSHman Jr., Commander 3rd Naval District on September 9th 1916 when he toured our Port Everglades ribbon cutting ceremony; Commodore John Fenton On October 5th 1921 On board USS Monitor during its commemorative voyage back across 41 years since her original donation by President Hayes Ives resulted in increased visitation for Our City Of Miami From Around The World!! These typesof trips not only showcased our city but also introduced fresh seafood enjoyed by those visiting us from afar as well………..Today we continue this typeof tourism promotion with special exhibitions such as Marine Mammals Viewing Cruise available throughout winter months

Miami Gardens, Florida is located in Miami-Dade County, Florida and is the ninth most populous city in the state. The city was founded on November 15, 1924 by a group of Cuban American entrepreneurs led by Jorge Pimentel. It became an agricultural center after purchase of land from the Miami Land Company. The original name for Miami Gardens was “Garden City” and it was changed to Miami Beach on January 1, 1926. On October 5, 1927, the first all black high school opened in Miami Beach. In 1928, the city adopted its current name of Miami Gardens after being accepted into the United States as a result of an amendment to the US Constitution which granted voting rights to citizens who reside within three miles of a federal courthouse or seat of government. In 1932, there were only 100 residents living in Miami Gardens when Mayor Manuel Diaz ordered public works projects such as piers and roads built in order to improve transportation and connect Miami with other parts of Dade County. The projects cost $2 million and were completed nine years later but did not bring much commercial development to town because nearby Broward County had more developed areas. In 1940, Mayor Manuel Diaz ordered another public works project called “The Lakeshore Project” which involved building four lakes that would provide water supply and recreation for residents in neighboring SouthMiami Heights and Overtown neighborhoods which were experiencing rapid population growth at that time due to new construction along Biscayne Boulevard including hotels and office buildings that replaced small farmssteads during World War II. This project also increased business activity around downtown as well as creating new jobs for local workers who built access roads, bridges and parkland near the newly created lakeshore developments. In 1961, Mayor Fidel Castro announced plans for what would become known as Cuba’s largest ever hospital complex called Santo Domingo de la Cruz Hospital which would be located adjacent to present-day Cinco de Mayo Park while still providing medical care services throughout Cuba outside of Havana proper where patients received primary care from physicians practicing outside Havana while also receiving various other health benefits available only through hospitals located within Havana proper such as freezers full of fresh foodstuffs offered daily both before bedtime for patients admitted overnight without prior notice (to make sure no infectious diseases reached patient) while also having private rooms with air conditioning available 24/7 just like inside modern day hospitals across Cuba where patients are typically provided with comfortable beds instead of cold concrete floors
