The shop, called "The Gourmet Coffee Warehouse," was first opened in 1978 by two friends, Don and Berenice Stroud. At that time, Miami Lakes was a small town located near Ft. Myers Beach. Today, The Gourmet Coffee Warehouse is one of the largest independently owned coffee shops in the United States with over 200 employees. The store offers a wide variety of coffee beans from all over the world, as well as an extensive range of espresso drinks and iced coffee products. In addition to its famous cup of Joe, The Gourmet Coffee Warehouse also offers unique gifts for customers such as cookbooks, gift cards and even custom made coffee mugs! Although it has been around since 1978, The Gourmet Coffee Warehouse's story is not just about great coffee - it's also about community involvement and dedication to customer service. There are many different types of gourmet coffee, but three main categories are Italian Roasts, French Roasts, and Americano Coffee. Italian Roasts: These coffees are typically roasted in Italy or one of its surrounding countries. They have a deep flavor with notes of cocoa, leather, nuts, and dried fruit. Generally speaking, these roasts tend to be darker than other types of gourmet coffee and will require more time to steep than other roasters. French Roasts: These coffees are typically roasted in France or one of its neighboring countries. They have a fruity flavor with hints of vanilla and chocolate. Their roast can be light or dark depending on how well it was prepared. These roasts tend to be slightly sweeter than Italian Roasts and will not require as much time to steep before they start to develop their own flavors. Americano Coffee: This type of coffee is typically roasted in the United States or some nearby country such as California. It has a strong bitter taste that comes from the use of caramelized sugar which gives it a unique flavor profile. It also contains notes of vanilla, butterscotch plantations, nuts, cinnamon sticks, etcetera.
Miami Lakes, Florida was the first coffee market in Miami-Dade County. It opened in 1907 and became a popular spot for customers looking for quality coffee. The store owner, Emile D’Augereau, also served as the first Mayor of Miami Lakes. In 1915, Julius Greif started his own coffee business in Miami Lakes and it would remain one of the most successful businesses in town until it closed its doors in 1982. In 1957, Harry J. Schwartz founded a small grocery chain called The Gourmet Shop that specialized in gourmet Coffee products such as espresso machines and French press coffee brewers.
Miami Lakes is a small community located in Miami-Dade County, Florida. The population of Miami Lakes was 1,607 as of the 2010 census. According to the 2000 census, Miami Lakes has a total area of 18 acres. The village is named after two large lakes that make up the majority of its land - Homestead Lake and Cutler Lake. Each creates its own park and playground for children in the community. There are also several houses on the small town's main street that offer views of both lakes from their porches or balconies. Miami Lakes was established by Englishman John Cutler in 1885 as a summer home for his family and friends. He developed much of what is now Miami Lakes into a thriving resort town during his time there. His son, James Denton Cutler, continued this tradition when he opened his own vacation home here in 1957 and it remains one of South Florida's most popular tourist destinations today. Cutler's Resort attracted many wealthy Americans who wanted to escape city life and enjoy some quiet relaxation while living near some beautiful natural assets such as Homestead Lake and Cutler Lake State Park. In recent years, however, Miami Lakes has begun to experience significant growth due to its proximity to South Beach and its ample supply of affordable housing options in all types of ages and styles.

However, as espresso drinking became more commonplace in developed countries such as America and Europe, a new type of bean emerged that could be blended with more ease for those who desired an even more intense cup of coffee than Arabica pods can provide. This new type of bean is called Robusta Coffee. Robusta Coffee flew off the shelves in Europe thanks to its unique flavor profile that is often compared to Turkish Coffee or Ethiopian Coffee. In fact, some people have even argued that Robusta is actually closer to Kenyan Coffee than either Arabs or Robustas are! due to their shared ancestor’s location on Africa’s Red Sea Coast!

Miami Lakes was established in 1892 as a citrus fruitpacking and shipping center. The name comes from Miamis Creek, which flows through the community. The citrus industry declined during the early 20th century, but revived in the 1930s with new technology. By 1945, Miami Lakes had become a major air cargo hub for Florida and its out-of-state crops. After World War II, Miami Lakes experienced an economic boom that saw many new buildings erected and a population increase. Today, Miami Lakes is an attractive retirement community with easy access to shopping and dining options.
The Miami Lakes region in central Florida was first populated by the Timucua people. The area was originally known as the Timucua Nation because of its location on Timucuan River. After being forced from their home, the Timucua spent several hundred years living among the Kissimmee and Okeechobee peoples before migrating to what is now Miami-Dade County in 1828. In 1892, Plantation owner Manuel López de Santa Cruz donated 256 acres (1 km2) of land east ofMIAMI for a new citrus orchards and town called Villa Park. The town flourished until 1915 when Hurricane Fanny destroyed most of Fort Lauderdale and rendered it uninhabitable. In 1923, a group of businessmen led by Mayor Phillip Garrido began purchasing land around MIA for development into an airport and industrial park called "Miami International Airport". The airport quickly became one of South Florida's largest employers with its own shopping mall, movie theater, etc. In 1990, Congress approved $3 million to help preserve and improve Miami Lakes while also providing funding for infrastructure projects such as drinking water systems, schools, fire departments and more. Today, Miami Lakes remains a popular tourist destination with many properties remaining undeveloped or under development
