Miami Lakes, Florida is home to one of the most significant coffee roasters in the United States. The company, Miami Lakes Coffee Company, was founded in 1964 by Mr. and Mrs. Edward J. Schultz. The Schultz's had been running a small grocery store in their home town of Miami Lakes for many years before starting the coffee shop. The first beans were roasted on-site at their grocery store and were sold only to customers who bought two cups of coffee each. Over time, however, the company grew and began selling beans online as well as through local retailers throughout Florida and beyond. Today, Miami Lakes Coffee Company offersapproximately seventy-five different blends of espresso and Colombian dark roast coffee along with a wide variety of tea products including chamomile and lavender infusion drinks and hot chocolate flavors like peppermint or chocolate mint (all made with Dutch Processed Arabica beans). The Schultz family has still been involved in the business since its inception; they currently run the shop alongside their son Daniel and daughter Jenna. They continue to roast new beans on-site every week while also working behind the scenes to ensure that all aspects of production are overseen by a single team ensuring consistent quality control across all products.
Miami Lakes is a small town in Broward County, Florida. The population was 9,811 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Miami-Dade metropolitan area. The community was named for Miami River and its numerous lakes that drained into it. Miami Lakes is located on land that once belonged to the Miami Dade County government. The townsite was platied in 1887, when the county became a separate entity from Duval County. In 1902, Miami Lakes incorporated as a village under the name of "Miami". On May 6, 1959, it changed its name to "Miami Lakes" after being chosen as one of three finalists for the name of a new county seat by then-Governor Manuel López Portillo. Prior to this election, no one had proposed choosing "Lakes" as an alternative for the new county seat; however, because it was shortlisted along with "Pinellas" and "Orlando", it received more votes than any other candidate and became an official designation. In November 2006, following annexation by Broward County from Miami-Dade County, "Lakes" again became an official designation for the community within Broward County only - meaning that City Hall can now be found there instead of inside downtown Miami proper (though still served by USPS mail). As part as local government services such as law enforcement and public education; city hall also houses various financial institutions including First mortgage Bank and Citizens Bank which are both headquartered in downtown Miami proper but serve residents in their respective neighborhoods off of I-95 South near Tamiami Trail (the old alignment of US 1). Today most businesses within Marlins Park are done through technology with companies like Amazon having their headquarters there too although they continue to ship some items out of town on I-95 South using express lanes/freeways nearby (still mostly used today though slowly becoming less so)

Miami Lakes is a small community in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The population was 2,814 at the 2010 census. It is included in the Miami–Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood Combined Statistical Area. The name "Lakes" comes from the Miami River which flows through it and also refers to the many freshwater lakes that dot the area. The first people to live here were Native Americans who hunted and fished in the area for food. A plantation was established by Spanish settlers in 1795 and bananas were grown on it until 1825 when citrus crops became dominant. In 1830, two brothers named Moses and Solomon Polk bought 1,000 acres of land east of present-day Miami Lakes for $4 per acre. They began planting orange trees and other crops which yielded high profits for them and their investors. When prices for goods changed in 1837, they sold their property to Henry Clay Frick for $165,000. By 1840 Frick had developed a large citrus orchard with 100 miles of fruit trees yielding 150 tons of oranges per year; he also built a few mills around town to process his produce. In 1846 Captain George Fenton leased 640 acres between Miami Lakes Boulevard (now US 1) and Biscayne Bay from Joseph Tilton de la Vega for £30 per annum payable annually plus interest payments until gift bequeathed or title be transferred to Fenton's heirs or successors free from any liens or encumbrances whatsoever; this lease provides one example of how early Filipinos came toFlorida as indentured servants beginning in 1795 seeking opportunities associated with sugar cane production on lands then surveyed by Spain but not yet under American control . . . In 1850 Floridians voted 3-2 against admitting Cuba into the Union because it would have increased competition among sugar growers therefrom;; however annexation did not take place until 1861 when Florida became part of Texas . . . [T]he first school opened at Miami Lakes in 1853 as an academy sponsored by Mrs Gifford Pinchot – daughter of Chief Justice James Buchanan – whose husband had been instrumental in getting Congress pass the Indian Removal Act prior to his death four years earlier….. Since its establishment as a public school District No 519 on March 14th 1902 School District No 520 boundaries have changed more than 400 times making this one of most active school districts in Florida Miami Lakes residents supported annexation of Cuba during its inauguration but due tosteering by leaders such as Big Ben Harrison local sentiment eventually shifted back towards Cuban independence following World War II efforts spearheaded by president Franklin D Roosevelt In 1951 President Harry Truman signed Executive Order 13765 creating segregated education within South Africa based on race rather than ability……………. This order led directly to passage of The National Academy Study on Negro Education which recommended racially segregated schools throughoutSouth Africa………. For many African Americans living near white suburbs such as Kendallville (Etowah County), Greenacres (Manatee County), Everglades City (Jackson County), Plantation Hills ( Lee County) all these homes were either direct descendants from slaves brought over duringthe1800s or owned outright before emancipation
The Miami Lakes area was first settled by people in the late 1800s. navigation on the Miami River was difficult, so early settlers built homes along the banks of the river. By 1907, the Miami Lakes had a population of about 350 people. The area became an agricultural community, and many farmers developed large fields of corn, wheat, and other crops. In 1941, because of World War II, the Miami Lakes area experienced significant growth as soldiers and their families moved to the area to work in munitions plants and other factories. In 1968, voters in what is now Broward County voted to create a new county within Florida called "Miami-Dade" for economic reasons. The name referred to both the county's location on southern Florida's Gulf Coast (near Fort Lauderdale) and its population of over 11 million at that time. As part of this new county government, development around what is now Marlins Park began shortly thereafter.
