Miami Springs is a community located in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The population was 105 at the 2010 census. It falls within the unincorporated area of South Miami Beach.
The first people to live there were members of the Seminole Tribe and their families who migrated from South Florida during the 18th century. They called this location "Mundo" meaning "Pine Forest". In 1881, Manuel Martinez took over management of Mundo and made it an agricultural town. By 1912, Miami Springs had a population of 710 residents and began to develop as a resort town with its own water supply and Elevated Railroad Station serving as its centerpiece.
In 1935, Harry Laughlin bought all of Miami Springs from Mrs. Aileen Carney for $25,000 in what is now known as Laughlin Park. He renamed it Coral Gables after his home city in London, England which he had visited while on business there that year. With World War II raging and many Americans moving to the southern hemisphere for war work or military service, Laughlin decided to keep Miami Springs operation running smoothly despite enemy bombing raids by using his resources to create other businesses such as aviation manufacturer Boeing and developer John Ippolito’s hotel complex which still stands today adjacent to Coral Gables Airport off Northwest 36th Avenue in Coconut Grove).
Laughlin also donated land for Coconut Grove Cemetery (now part of University Village) which was started by Drury Lane Properties founder James Hickey in memory of his wife Anna drury lane Hickey who died suddenly at age 83 years old on December 3rd 1902 just two weeks before her 91st birthday party at her home following a long life filled with numerous accomplishments including being elected twice as president/CEO of JHPE plc., terms she held concurrently with her husband until their death two days later; being chairwoman/co-founder & CEO (1998–2001) & MD (1993–2005) Of JHP Medical Inc.; Chairperson (2002–2007) & CEO emeritus (2008–present) Of Universal Health Sciences LP; Emeritus Professoress Visiting Professor At University Of Southern California School Of Medicine; Member BoardOf Directors - American Museum Of Natural History (board member since 2006); President - Stroudsburg Area Chamber Commerce; Vice Mayor - Community Redevelopment Authority
Mayor Bloomberg announced plans for new development around Coral Gables Airport over Memorial Day weekend 2009 when he toured some condos built under prior plans by developers that would have brought hundreds more jobs into the area but were cancelled due to low construction costs combined with increased security concerns among residents near airport property line fence. On May 10th 2011 Mayor Bloomberg announced another plan for new development around airport propertyline fence consisting primarily of condominiums The mayor's latest development will be known as "Coral Gables Cove" and will include 2 million square feet (~100 homes), 400 luxury units (<$200K), 12 stores worth up to $500K each, 5 golf courses worth up to $2 million each, 1 movie theater ($300M), 1 sport arena ($300M+) http://www1.cgacorporealgables cove wiki

Small batch coffee has a long and varied history, dating back to the early 1800s. The first mention of small batch coffee is in an 1810 book called "A General History of American Tobacco", where it is mentioned as being produced by Nicholas-Jacques Conte. By the 1830s, small batches were being produced by various companies throughout America. One of the earliest mentions of small batch coffee was from John D. Rockefeller in his 1896 speech "The Future of Business". In 1909, J.P. Morgan founded Chase National Bank with the goal of providing a safe haven for small businesses throughout America. In 1928, David Saperstein created Gordon's Coffee Company in Brooklyn, New York with the goal of making hand-roasted coffee available to more people than any other company at that time. During World War II, smallbatch coffee was used to make munitions and products needed for war efforts such as gasoline and planes. After the war ended, many small business owners faced difficult times as technology changed and competition became tougher. However, over time many smaller businesses have been reborn and continue to provide qualitysmall batch coffee experiences today
On December 8, 2011, Tim Hortons announced they would be selling smallbatch coffee starting at $2.99 per cup. The first batch of small batch coffee was sold on January 3, 2012.
Miami Springs is a small town located in Miami-Dade County, Florida. The population was 1,584 at the 2010 census. Miami Springs is part of the Miami-Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood metropolitan area. It is bordered by North Miami to the north, Cutler Bay to the east, Biscayne Park to the south, and Overtown to the west. The first residents of what would become Miami Springs were white settlers who arrived during the early days of Spanish exploration in what is now South Florida. Some were soldiers on expeditions led by Don Tristán de la Vega y Keytes during 1692 and 1693; others were laborers for Captain Juan Pérez's expedition in 1714. By 1800, Spanish settlers had established a village called San Pedro del Rio on an island in Lake Okeechobee that became known as Santa Clara de los Rosales after Saint Clare of Assisi whose feast day was celebrated there in 1801. Mrs. John Fenton purchased land from Alonso de Torres near present-day Northwest corner of NW Second Street and Congress Avenue about 1810 or 1812 for $225 per acre (1/4 mile). He named itafter his wife's maternal ancestor who had settled near Fort Myers (then part of Spanish Cuba) in 1586 as part of a group organized by Father Luis De La Fuente prior to his arrival in America with Diego Velázquez on May 7, 1585 aboard Santiago de Cuba's La Navegación alrededor de Maracaibo (1587–1624), one month before Columbus' landfall on Hispaniola on April 14th., four months after he discovered America while sailing under Captains Hernando Bueno and Cristobal Fernández del Castillo across Cape St Vincent (). Fenton acquired more land between First and Second Streets including parts of Cutler Bay which he renamed "Mansfield" after his friend General Mansfield who served with distinction against Native Americans at Fort Moultrie outside Charleston Harbor during Queen Anne's War (1702–1704). In 1830 John Fenton sold additional land east of Congress Avenue to Jno.-Atherton Polk which included today’s Northeast cornerabandoned from Ulysses S Grant’s Soldiers & Sailors Home property located just eastof I-95 exit 191B . From this incident springs sprang forth many businesses downtown such as: Hooters restaurants which opened their doors along Northwest 2nd street starting around 1950 until they closed about 1990; The Dolphin Hotel – also started around 1950 but closed down circa 1990; also several gas stations including Sunoco station located at NE 1ST STREET between NW First Street and NW Second Street now defunct.; Masonic Temple – built c1960 but not used since then; Wanda’s nightclub originally opened its doors November 5th 1959 inside City Hall building next door now used as “Pizza Hut”;; Lighthouse Grill - opened its doors March 9th 1978 right next door where Pizza hut once stood;; Churros Mexican restaurant - open since 1976
The Miami Springs area was first settled in the early 1800s. A post office called Miami Springs was established in 1835, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1912. In 1864, a group of investors led by Colonel George H. Stephens purchased 640 acres of land southeast of the present-day city limits of Miami and founded the town of Miami Springs. The town developed into a small community with homes, businesses, and churches. The population of Miami Springs peaked at around 2,500 people in 1905, but declined during the Progressive Era due to Prohibition repeal (1920–1924). The town lost its significance after World War II when most development took place within the city limits.
