Mount Dora is a small town in Duval County, Florida. It is located on the east side of state Highway 90, about 12 miles south of Jacksonville and 10 miles north of Clearwater. Cook in 1892. Cook named his land "Mount Dora" because he saw an eagle that had flown over his property on November 25, 1892. In 1906, Mount Dora became part of Jacksonville and experienced rapid growth during World War I due to its strategic location as a staging ground for ships transporting troops and materiel to Europe. After the war ended, businesses started up again in Mount Dora and it remained a busy community until the late 1990s when there were only a few stores remaining and most people had left for other parts of Duval County or Jacksonville. In early 2006 First Coast Restoration completed restoration work on what is now known as “the house withstood”- a home that was completely destroyed by Ivan but had still managed to survive thanks largely to it's unique roof design which allowed water infiltration while preserving all interior elements! This project remains one of First Coast Restoration's most successful as it has restored several homes similar in style yet each with its own unique character which remain standing today despite being exposed to direct sunlight for extended periods every day!
