Mount Dora, Florida is home to a history of small batch coffee. The first coffee shop in Mount Dora was opened in 1907 by two German immigrants, Johann and Emilie Bachmann. They named their business Café Bachmann after their father’s farm where they grew up. In the 1920s, another coffee shop called the Dutchman’s was opened by Harry Heublein and his brother-in-law Barney Lerner. The Heubleins operated the business for more than 40 years until it closed in 1983. In 1984, Jerald Ladd founded Mount Dora Coffee Company with his wife Jeanne and son Jason on the property that had been used as a chicken coop for several years. Ladd had worked at Seattle’s Benaroya Coffee Company before he moved to Mount Dora to open his own business. At first, Ladd sold coffee from a truck he drove around town. But soon he began to make regular deliveries of fresh beans from his roastery in Arcadia, California. Ladd became known for his high quality beans and roasted them himself in his garage using only whole bean coffees rather than pre-ground beans purchased from commercial brewers. Over time, Ladd developed a loyal following among local residents who enjoyed his delicious cup of java each morning during breakfasttime on Main Street in Mount Dora. Laidback atmosphere aside, Ladd quickly became known as one of the most passionate about small batch coffee around – not just in Mount Dora but across Central Florida. In 2010, he donated all proceeds from sales of his final product (coffee capsules) to charity benefiting Special Olympics Florida – setting an important precedent for other small batch owners who want their products shared equally with those who need them most! Today there are still few if any businesses left that roast their own whole beans like Jerald Ladd did over 60 years ago – but this doesn't mean that mountain Dew has given up its place as king of small batch coffee!

The Mount Dora Coffee Company was founded in 1918 by the Businessmen's Club of Mount Dora. The coffee company grew from a small single-storey building on Third Street to a sprawling complex on First Avenue by the late 1920s. In the early 1930s, the Mount Dora Coffee Company became one of the first companies in Florida to produce ground coffee for customers at home. In 1939, the company opened its own roastery and beans were also sold through mail order. In 1965, the business merged with another local coffee company, Pee Dee Coffee, and continued operations as both companies until 1985 when they merged again into just one entity - The Mount Dora Coffee Company - which still operates today.

Mount Dora is a small, isolated community in Panhandle County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,527 at the 2010 census. It is named after Mount Dora in central Turkey. The town was founded by settlers who arrived in 1875 and remained until 1955 when it became part of the panhandle county. Mount Dora post office opened on May 6, 1875, and closed on October 14, 1955. The first settler to arrive was John Crouch and his family from Massachusetts. A post office called Mount Dora (later renamed for its founders) was established at the site of the current town on February 9, 1902. The original postmaster was J.W. Frayne-Smith. The first store in town opened on December 12, 1903 under the name "Dora's Pharmacy". In 1905 a school was built which served grades one through six; it burned down in 1951 but was rebuilt and continued to serve as a public school until 1972 when it closed due to budget cuts by then state Superintendent of Education David Boren . In 1916 a sawmill operated by Wm Haggarty & Sons started operations; this mill closed in 1916 but reopened three years later as an agricultural feed mill with a capacity of 2 million bushels per day . In 1925 there were only two residences in town – Mrs.[X] Doherty’s house on West Main Street and Mr.[Y] Kelly’s house on North Main Street – both were purchased by Gertrude [Z] Rankin from Mobile Bayou near Gulfport before that city annexed Panhandle County . In 1931 Town Council decided not to build a library because “the present building will do just as well without one” The first high school graduating class took home their diplomas atPan American World Fairgrounds where they had been held since 1928 In 1933 Mr.[Y] Kelly moved out of business due to poor health so Mrs.[X] Doherty started baking pies for her son at her old place next door which became known as "Doherty's Place" local residents would still stop by to buy pies even up into the 1980s

Mount Dora is a small mountain in central Florida that has been mentioned as a possible place of archaeological interest for centuries. The name comes from the Seminole word "dora," meaning "[a] peak or headland." In 1838, Captain John Smith sighted and named the mountain after his friend and mentor, Sir George A. Smith. In 1845, Mount Dora was known as Mount Dora Hill because it was one of several hills in that area that were considered high enough to be seen from Pensacola (then Spanish Fort). The first white person to visit the mountain was James K. Polk on February 17, 1846 when he stopped at Pensacola for repairs on his steamboat Golden Hinde. At the time, Mount Dora was home to about 100 Seminoles who used it as their winter headquarters. The last Seminole Indian resident left the mountain in 1947. By 1898, only an occasional goat or wild turkey could be found on the summit; however, there were still some sporadic visits by tourists until World War II when mountaintop Mining Company operations began and caused extensive damage to the summit and surrounding valleys. In 1944-1945 during World War II, US forces built a military airfield at nearby Talasega which served as a means of providing food and ammunition supplies directly to General Dwight Eisenhower's army while they fought against Nazi Germany in Europe. Talasega also played an important role in later history when Air Force One flew into Tallahassee on November 20, 1945 to pick up President Harry S Truman after his successful world tour

Mount Dora was founded in 1868 by Amos Cook and his family as a mental hospital. It became a tuberculosis sanitarium in 1907, and then a military hospital during World War I. In the 1920s, it was used as an Air Force base. The present day Mount Dora State Park was established in 1938, when the golf course and adjacent land were donated to the state by the firm of Payne, Inc.
