USAAF Flying Training Command also operated Republic F-84G Thunderjets at RAF Lakenheath between 1958 and 1962 while ADC's Matador Developmental Center operated McDonnell Douglas DC-9Ds at Langley AFB between 1958 and 1963 while TAC's Flying Tigers held exercises at Thule AFB from 1957 through 1959 before their move to Eglin AFB from 1960 through 1966 when they were replaced by McDonnell Douglas DC-8Cs.)
