This order lasted until 1945 whenCaptain Hendershot increased spending for new equipment and training programs which led to an increase in crime rates in the town. In 1967-1968 Captain Claude King took over command from Captain Harry Hendershot and ordered that all gifts be resumed effective immediately due to municipal budget problems caused by state cutsbacks at departmental levels throughout Florida. King's tenure saw a significant increase in law enforcement activity with more intergovernmental cooperation between law enforcement agencies across county boundaries than ever before resulting in arrests related to organized crime activities within our community From 1978-1981 Captains Rick Burchardt and Don White led police departments through major changes which included developing a computerized system which allowed officers access to real time data on crime trends; disbanding most prostitution squads; installation of sound equipment inside restaurants/bars making it easier for officers to surveillance potential criminals during their meals; establishment of a narcotics unit; establishment of street gangs unit whose task wasto prevent drug trafficking within our community This paper will focus on one specific aspect of this history - officer Gifts!
