Since then, many other officers have presented gifts to their friends and loved ones - some even going above and beyond! Here are five examples: 1) Officer Kapp gave his wife Ethel personalized Christmas trees for every tree they ever bought together (they eventually became known as The Kapp Family Tree). This gesture was truly special considering that Ethel had worked tirelessly helping out at their house while he served on-duty. 2) In 1978, police sergeant Rick Shultz donated $5,000 towards construction of new patrol cars for the department - this donation really helped improve safety on our streets during those times of high crime rates. 3) Sergeant Bob Cook sent his family Christmas present including two motorcycles (one for each son), clothes and accessories, and tickets to see The Bandstand at Daytona Beach city limits - another great gesture from one of our most dedicated officers! 4) Detective Alonge gifted two pairs of shoes each to two different women who had expressed interest in purchasing them after seeing him wear them on duty; both ladies were extremely pleased with their purchases! 5) Recently retired detective Gary Fenton sent his wife Hisamma a beautiful Tiffany & Co piece for her birthday - she truly appreciated it! It seems that no matter how old we become, there will always be something special about policemen!

New Smyrna Beach is a town in Pinellas County, Florida, United States. The population was 5,827 at the 2010 census. It is part of the St Petersburg-Clearwater Metropolitan Statistical Area. At one time it was the most populous town in Pinellas County and is now ranked as a small city by most measures. The name New Smyrna Beach first appeared on U.S. Geological Survey maps in 1876 when settlers named their community after an existing beach on the Gulf of Mexico coast about 20 miles south of Jacksonville. According to legend, Turkish sailors who had been wrecked onshore at that location salvaged some treasure and took it back to Istanbul with them; this story may have helped give rise to the name's geographic accuracy since Turkey has no coastline on the gulf). In 1898, local businessmen Don Atherton and Jens Jensen purchased land east of current day New Smyrna Beach from the government for $1 million dollars ($ today). They subdivided this land into Blocks 16 through 22 which became homes for many of Tampa Bay's early businesses and residents including Atherton's father-in-law, Hermann Zimmermann (founder of Zimmermann Brothers candy company), Tom Dooley (founder of Toole’s Barbecue sauce) and brothers Joe & Billy Dyer who later founded Dyer’s Delight ice cream parlor next door to what is now called Dooley Park across from St Pete University Hospital campus. In 1904, new developers James Fenton (a partner with future Bucs owner Hernando Hernandez) bought Block 24 from Don Atherton for $2 million dollars ($ today). Fenton built what are now known as Palm courts which still stand today just north of present day US 1/4 mile east of First Street NE corner with Third Avenue NE corner - all within modern day New Smyrna Beach boundaries - making him one of its earliest Developers. That same year also saw incorporation by referendum as a town under Florida Constitution article XII § 7 “And be located upon such lands lying within four square miles [of] said bay…” The vote ended up being 578-162 in favor with only 3 against because two citizens objected to their own home ownership rights not being included along with other townships within that foursquaremile area thereby preventing annexation by New Smyrna Beach proper – though they would eventually annex much further inland ). Accordingly by 1907 there were over 100 residents living in tiny blocksaded streets behind downtown where Canal Street meets First Street NE today - nearly all dwellings facing water or open ocean . As development grew more rampant outside those confines heavy rains caused flooding that damaged infrastructure allowing only a limited amount commerce or human occupation ashore until 1915 when state engineers arrived unannounced about possible shoreline adjustments needed due to encroaching sea levels resulting from global warming given then prevailing winds blowing out overland rather than pulling down locks like during previous Ice Ages . By 1916 rates for electricity had increased 50% due largely to electric streetcars running between downtown St Petersburg/Clearwater (now Downtown Pinellas) and newer neighborhoods closer to Interstate 434 while gas prices remained low due to lack thereof ]. During World War II munitions plants were established here producing aircraft fuel oil critical for war efforts while shipbuilding took place offshore off Long Island City; both activities resulted in high levels of pollution that persists even up this day particularly near Point Clear Naval Air Station some 13 miles southeast where jet fuel production began operations in 1979 followed soon thereafter by aviation manufacturing facilities various other industries including Shiprepair Center & Marina (@PinellasCountyMarina), biomass energy plant & refinery @Brentwood Marina (@PortMiami Biofuels), wastewater treatment plant (& powerplant) @New Port Richey Wastewater Treatment Plant (@NPSnwtp), chemical storage facility @Enderprises Chemical Storage Facility (@VeroBayChemicals), military medical training center hospital @Fort Brooke Army Medical Center (-Now Fort Brooke Navy Base)), airport expansion plans beginning immediately following World War II brought ever increasing numbers OF workers into formerly small but densely packed residential areas currently surrounding I-4 Exit 141A providing access both arterially via Nwspdwyzt Rd NW exit ramp & via US 1/4 mile long parkway although few residences remain extant ..... Today there are approximately 5500 people living throughout its entirety spread among nearly 2 dozen neighborhoods located primarily along canal waterfronts bordered riverwalkways & west side beaches adjacent Pensacola Harbour
