Langer, whoowned and operated a gun store on Commercial Street for over fifty years. Langer’s store was one of the first places people could find firearms in New Smyrna Beach. He also became known for his excellent customer service, which sometimes included providing customers with ammunition and other firearm accessories not typically found at other retailers. As shooters continued to arrive in New Smyrna Beach over the years, Langer’s store became an important part of their community. Today, Langer’s store remains a popular tourist destination for shooters all over America and around the world!

The area that makes up New Smyrna Beach has been inhabited by humans for over 10,000 years. In 1892, some English settlers from England settled on what is now known as Promenade Drive in what is now known as New Smyrna Beach. As development increased along Promenade Drive and other areas in the early 1920s, it became necessary to build a seawall to protect against flooding during storms. In 1926, construction began on Brevard County's first public beach, which today forms part of North Atlantic Boulevard in New Smyrna Beach. The town of New Smyrna Beach was incorporated on May 20, 1925. On September 7th 1907 local businessmen elected J.C. Whitehead mayor with a one-third majority after he finished second place in a race for school board member The first post office opened at Nswbrn Beach on December 15th 1907 under the name "Dolphin". It closed on July 1st 1911 due to low mail volume and re-opened as "New Smyrna" on October 24th 1911 In 1940 two American soldiers were killed when their armored car was blown up by German forces while en route from Naples to Daytona Beach On February 3rd 1944 an A-25 Mitchell Bomber crashed into Playa Grande killing all 11 people onboard including six children

New Smyrna Beach, Florida is a small town located inBrevard County, Florida. The population was 5,693 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the Orlando-Kissimmee-Sanford Metropolitan Statistical Area. The area now known as New Smyrna Beach was first settled by Native Americans in the late 18th century. In 1824, Captain John Flemming and his crew of pirates were caught onshore by a group of Seminole Indians and taken to prison at Fort Pierce. From their cells, they watched as Spanish colonists arrived on shore and built a plantation near what is now downtown New Smyrna Beach. The first European settlers in Brevard County arrived in 1795 when Lt.-Gov. George Washington’s party landed at Fort Brooke on Clearwater River. The British also established a post at Fort Brooke during this time but it was abandoned after only a few months due to lack of food and water resources. For many years thereafter, the area around present-day New Smyrna Beach consisted of swampy land filled with trees and brush that was difficult to access for farming or development because of its inaccessible location high among the mountains which formed the ancient barrier island known today as Moore Island. In 1824, Commodore James Cook's ill-fated expedition discovered North America while sailing through Indian Archipelago off Tampa Bay; he named it Isla de Cuba after Havana, Cuba–a name which would be applied to much of South America before it became Venezuela during independence from Spain in 1898). As traffic increased along Tampa Bay's Gulf Coast during the 1830s with waves generated by warm temperate oceans making landfall there instead of off Treasure Islands offshore like most locations then), developers began thinking about developing land near Tampa Bay's headwaters (then called Estero) where fresh water could be drawn from underground springs without having to go through creeks or rivers which often caused flooding when heavy rains flooded inland areas such as nearby Hillsborough County where saltpeter production took place for naval use; one such developer was Augustus Moultrie who purchased 8 acres (3 hectares) just south of what is now downtown New Smyrna Beach from Nicholas Jackson in 1838 for $1 per acre ($252/km2). He named this parcel Point Comfort since it was located on a point capable both of receiving rising tide levels upriver long enough for boats carrying goods downriver below low tide mark so can be unloaded at high tide again then returned upstream under low tide – something not possible elsewsidehand due tidal fluctuations This early success story soon gave way to more ambitious endeavors: dredging deep channels through sandbars connecting two points nearer shoreline between modern day Anse Anchorage Road ()and Everglades Blvd (); ferry operations commenced linking these points providing easy access ashore even during low tides meaning deliveries could take place direct from warehouses near Point Comfort Ferry Landing (). This commercial venture netted him over $100 000 by 1860—about 2% (.00005%) annually GDP growth within Brevard County! Moultrie died suddenly less than three years later however leaving behind an ongoing business cycle resulting in increasing costs associated with canal maintenance culminating in disastrous floods which destroyed Point Comfort Ferry Landing unloading docks () & fouling waterways (& impacting seafood industry)) beginning approximately 1865 leading directly to Old Miami Canal reopening (& eventually creating Lake Okeechobee!) In short: A man born into poverty struggles unsuccessfully against odds himself becoming oneof entrepreneurialism’s earliest20th century icons.) Unfortunately: Another Commodore discovers North America...again! And we're back where we started! In 1892, a group of investors organized the New Smyrna Beach Improvement Association to make improvements to the beach. The organization was successful in improving the beach and made it a more popular tourist destination. In 1916, they founded the New Smyrna Beach Foundation to help promote tourism in the town. In 1938, they donated land for a new amusement park called "Mardi Gras Park".
