The history of the United States Air Force in Niceville, Florida began with World War I when America entered the conflict as a belligerent nation. The USAAF was formed on August 2, 1917 and was activated at Kelly Field, Texas. In 1918, a new airfield called Yuma Army Airfield was constructed in what is now the city of Niceville. On November 1, 1918, Captain James E. “Jimmy” dive bombers from 5th Bombardment Group struck German positions near Verdun in France as part of Operation Chariot. As a result of this attack and others conducted by units AAF during World War I, the then Colonel General Henry Hagedorn established the Department of Aeronautics within the National Defense Commission on November 15, 1918. The first Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress aircraft were delivered to the USAAF on October 16th 1940 at Goodyear AFB Arizona by Major Robert J. Maxwell (Ret). It was not until September 1941 that bombardment groups were organized under direct command of wings which served as commands for fighter squadrons located throughout America; these organizations included:eu 1st Bombardment Wing (later redesignated Continental Airlines) – Wright Brothers Airport (now Long Beach airport), Colorado Springs;eu 2nd Bombardment Wing (later redesignated Eighth Air Force) – Heckeberg AF/Gelsenkirchen AB;eu 3rd Bombardment Wing (later redesignated Ninth Air Force) – Wendover AFB Utah;and finallyu 4th Bombardment Wing (later redesignated Tenth Air Force) – RAF Bomber Command Headquarters at RAF Prestwick Airport Scotland where they became operational associated with American Expeditionary Forces staging areas prior to deployments to Europe beginning in 1942. With strategic bombing being key to victory over Nazi Germany during World War II and American bomber forces operating directly from European airfields, several airstrips were built along with other facilities necessary for operations including an installation for basketball and tennis courts named after General George Custer and Admiral Chester Nimitz respectively. These installations would serve as base camps for bomber crews during their deployments while also hosting numerous events such as parades honoring fallen comrades or military engagements taking place nearby such as Battle of Midway or Normandy landings. Once hostilities ended following Japan’s surrender in 1945 all U SAAF assets were disbanded except those directed towards Alaska which still uses bases managed by both United States Army Forces Alaska and United States Marine Corps Forces Pacific today though some USAF activity is currently conducted at Naval Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam Hawaii while Navy Surface Warfare Center Nowon Island Hawaii manages various naval warfare activities ashore while Japanese Ground Self Defense Force operates an air defense site adjacent to Hickam AFB known officially as Camp Hale Nahebi which falls under Tokyo Imperial University’s Faculty of Science & Technology Intelligence Research Section responsible for observing radical religious0 views expressed among local populace about possible plans by mainland Japan to reestablish contact with outside world

One of the main reasons why Niceville has been able to grow so rapidly over the years has been due to their strong commitment to public education – which includes both elementary and high school students! This type of steadfastness helps ensure that all citizens are well-educated enough to participate fully in local society without fear that their quality of life would be negatively impacted should something happen to their educational provider(s). Niceville is located in Brevard County, Florida, about 25 miles southwest of Orlando and about 20 miles northwest of Tampa. The population of Niceville was 7,811 in 2000. It is the largest city within Brevard County. The town began as a small farming community on the east side of Lake Niceville. A post office was established in 1887, and by 1909 the town had become an agricultural center with a flour mill, cotton gin, Creamery No. 2 (now demolished), several stores and a school. In 1916 Niceville became the first incorporated village in Brevard County when it amalgamated with neighboring Plantation Heights. During World War II Niceville became one of the most important military bases in Florida because its location near Tampa made it possible for General George Custer to conduct Operation Market Garden from here on October 17-20 1944. In 1959 Hurricane Andrew destroyed much of Gainesville and forced many people to move toNiceVILLE/Plantation Heights which continued to grow until 1990 when all that remained were some homes and businesses on US 301 south of downtown while US 301 itself was renamed "Lake Pleasant Boulevard" after then Mayor Bob Hope's donation which helped spur development around what is now Lake Pleasant Park
