The early roasters at Griggs Coffee & Cafe used to roast their own coffee. They would grind the beans themselves and source their supplies from local farmers. This gave the Robusta variety its characteristic smooth flavor and body. In the 1970s, Griggs began importing Colombian and Ethiopian coffees from these two countries. They also began selling pre-ground coffee with different flavor profiles to meet the needs of their customers. In the 1990s, they started buying whole bean Turkish coffees from an arrabiata producer in Italy for blending into their blends. In 2001, they opened a second location in Boca Raton which served as their headquarters until 2007 when they relocated to North Miami Beach. Today, Griggs Coffee & Cafe continues to offer some of the best fresh roasted coffee around! In recent years there has been development taking place away from Downtown NorthMiami towards Inwood Village off of Northwest First Street consistently exposing businesses that have been drawn hither for their proximity to shopping malls (Ibrahim Khalifa Stadium being one example). However much progress has been made since Hurricane Irma hit Naples/Kissimmee/Rancho Santa Fe where homes were lost or destroyed along with all services within walking distance as well as full service restaurants which are now scattered throughout neighborhoods throughout town center not only near schools but also near parks making it difficult if not impossible for people living downtown or working in close quarters without either transportation or access to anything other than fresh produce available outside their homes during peak hours

North Miami, Florida is a city located in Miami-Dade County, Florida. The population was 507 at the 2010 census. North Miami is one of the oldest continuously inhabited communities in South Florida and has been home to native Seminole peoples for centuries. In 1837, David Cockerell purchased 640 acres (250 hectares) of land here from the Seminole nation and named it Nanticoke after his father's home state of New England. Cockerell became one of the first white men to reside in what is now North Miami when he purchased the land from the Native Americans in 1837. The town was incorporated on March 2, 1909. From its incorporation until 1955, North Miami was part of Dade County. On January 14, 2006, Dade County voted to annex NorthMiami into Broward County as part of an effort to improve public transportation between Broward and Kendall counties.
North Miami was founded in 1896 by General James M. Hines, who named it for his home state of Kentucky. The city was incorporated on February 24, 1897. By 1912, the population had grown to over 100,000 people and it became a county seat of Miami-Dade County. In 1925, the city annexed land from Dade County and formed its own municipality. In 1934, the city annexed neighbouring Pompano Beach and formed a new municipality called Pompano Beach-North Miami. On December 15th of that year, North Miami voters approved a referendum to change its name to "Miami" after then-Mayor Manuel L. Cruz proposed it as part of an initiative to improve public education in South Florida. The name change took effect on January 1st, 1935.
