Sattler had opened his first café in downtown Ocoee and started serving coffee from his home. Over time, other businesses followed suit and the city became known for its high-quality coffee.
Ocoee is a small town in Central Florida, United States. The population was 1,827 at the 2010 census. It is part of Citrus County. The town was founded by 17-year-old John Sprague in 1851 as "Sprague's Station" on the Orange River. Ocoee became a railroad stop on the Jacksonville and Orlando Railroad in 1868 and then an agricultural center during the early 20th century. The post office was established in 1893. In 1939, Ocoee became a station on US Highway 1 when that highway was built through Central Florida from Orlando to Tampa. In 1961, US 1 was renumbered I-4 and Ocoee became I-4 exit 199A/B for that purpose; it remained so until 2000 when it reverted back to its original routing as part of the state highway system redesignation process following the Statehood Act of 1907. I-4 enters town from SR 516 about two miles east of downtown; SR 516 leads northeast to SR 437 which becomesSR 347 after entering town; both roads lead generally northwest into rural areas before turning southeast nears CR 850 (now Business US Hwy 8) where they head generally north again before rejoining I-4 just south of downtown Ocoee proper. There are several businesses along this route: JCPenney has its corporate headquarters here; Lowe's Home Improvement operates its largest store inside city limits; Burger King is Oppenheimer's first store outside Bessemer City limits; Pizza Hut opened here in 1984, just across from Center Plaza mall (then Sears); Michael Jordan's basketball team played their final game at USHwy 1 & SR 348 Spur before moving upstate to Orlando; KFC also had an outlet here until 2007 while Hardees shuttered operations in 2009.; numerous gas stations dot the area - mostly Marathon - with most located closer to Interstate 4 or downtown than I-4

Ocoee, Florida is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the United States. The city was founded by Englishman John C. Morgan in 1837 as a small fishing village on the Choctawhatchee River. By 1851, Ocoee had become an important railroad town with a population of over 10,000. In 1907, Ocoee became one of three cities in Seminole County to be annexed by Tallahassee; it had been part of Polk County since 1835. The annexation created a municipal government for the new city and doubled its population to about 30,000 by 1910. The growth of agriculture and industry in Florida during the 1920s and 1930s led to rapid industrialization in Ocoee-particularly around citrus production-and increased traffic on both roads and waterways. As a result, many businesses closed or moved out of town during this period; however, some stayed while others were acquired or relocated by other companies. In 1948, after more than fifty years as an agricultural center and large commercial town, Ocoee experienced its first Rapid Growth Phase when several new subdivisions were built near its downtown area spurring continued growth throughout the decade. However, satellite towns such as Gainesville began to form along Interstate 95-the only major north-south highway then available in central Florida-causing residential development around I-95 which impacted much of what was once downtown Ocoee until that area was redeveloped into mixed use buildings and parks adjacent to I-95 late last century During the early 21st century several waves of development have returned downtown including office space being brought back from retirement homes developed along I-95 south of downtown (known as "The Strip"), high end home rentals having started emerging near State Road 100A east off US 212 (known as "The Lakeside"),[1] light manufacturing moving back into town following heavy investment from Orlando developers,[2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9] theater developments announced or under construction at various locations within walking distance (including newly constructed Jack Whitehall Stadium)[10][11],[12], restaurants opening up near shopping centers/mall complexes (such as Walmart), retail conversions taking place along I-95 stretching from Grissom Rd eastward past US 192/SR 441 into older neighborhoods west of SR 441 known as "Old Town",[] arts & entertainment venues announcements underway or under construction at various locations including Live Oak Amphitheater ();[] Simmons Park ()[]

By 1830, the population of Ocoee had reached 50 people. In 1836, the town became an incorporated village. It had a total population of 375 people by 1840. The first school in Ocoee was built in 1844. The population of Ocoee decreased until it reached its low point around 1870 when it only consisted of 25 people. In 1916, the town adopted a new name - Orange Beach - to reflect its growing citrus industry which contributed significantly to its growth during this time
