Oldsmar is a small town located in Bay County, Florida. The population was 1,521 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Jacksonville metropolitan area. The name "Oldsmar" comes from Spanish meaning "old fort." At one time it was a military post and later became a small agricultural community. Oldsmar's economy revolves around agriculture and manufacturing. Manufacturing has included boatbuilding and metalworking since the late 1800s. Today, Oldsmar's economic focus lies in providing services to its residents, such as groceries, transportation, health care, and more. The oldest building in Oldsmar is the old courthouse which was built in 1907. It is now used as a library. Other historic buildings include the Methodist Church (1927) and Bank of America Building (1940). Thebank building served as both an insurance company office and bank until it burned down in 1984. The first school in Oldsmar was founded in 1881 by Mrs Wharton teacher Tomlinson who opened her home for instruction on Monday nights afternoons given that there wasn't any school within walking distance at that time. A second school opened shortly afterwards which met at Mrs Butler's house until 1886 when it moved to Mr Gentry's home which still stands today across from Market Street Baptist Church (). In 1893 Mr Gentry donated land to build what would become Oldsmar High School (). In 1906 Dr Henson purchased property adjacent to his farm north of town for use as an Agricultural School (). That same year classes began inside what would eventually become First Baptist Church () where Wanda Coleman currently teaches middle grade students(). From 1929-1930 Ethel Bowen taught 8th grade girls before she moved on to teach 3rd grade boys (); however because of World War II GI’s returning home during that period enrollment dropped precipitously so Ms Bowen returned to teaching 8th grade girls again starting Spring 1945(). Finally starting fall 1946 Ms Coleman started teaching 3rd graders south of Third Street next door to First Baptist Church (). This arrangement continued until 1949 when Hugo Weisman transferred ownership of his grocery store onto Third Street; thus beginning what would be called “the Weisman era” for Oldsmar Schools (. . .) Over time other businesses have been added such as Internet Service Provider (ISP), tire shop on Third Street (), pawnshop (), car wash (), pet groomer (), hair salon (), restaurant & bar., etc.; however all these businesses remain open today under one roof with one goal-to provide quality education for our sons and daughters every day!

In 1922, the old military base at Fort Myers became an agricultural center when it became known as Oldsmar Air Force Base. After World War II, Oldsmar experienced development thanks to new industries that sprang up in Miami-Dade County such as construction materials and aircraft manufacturing. However, economic decline began to take hold in the 1990s as manufacturing left for other areas ofFlorida; however, recent growth has been positive with several new businesses opening up around town over the last few years alone including a KFC restaurant and an auto dealership

Robertson and named for him after his old home on Oldsmar Plantation near Fort Lauderdale. It grew rapidly during World War II due to its proximity to the naval base at Everglades City and other military installations; it had a population of 21,563 in 1940. After the war, Oldsmar developed into a small commercial center with many services offered by its numerous small businesses: engineering, grocery stores, insurance companies and banks. In the early 2000s, most of the older homes were replaced by new housing developments; today only a few remaining downtown buildings remain from whenRobertson's original settlement was much more populous.
