Oldsmar, Florida is a town in Marion County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,711 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Jacksonville metropolitan area. Oldsmar was founded by General James Wilkinson on November 4, 1824 as Wilkinson's Station on Indian Creek. It became a town on January 12, 1868 when it absorbed the neighboring villages of Carbon and Black Jack. On October 15, 1888 the area around Oldsmar was struck by a devastating tornado that killed 49 people and caused extensive damage to buildings and homes in the town. The name "Oldsmar" comes from early Spanish settlers who named their community after Don José de la Vega y Osorio (1776-1825), captain general of Mexico during the Mexican War of Independence and one of several American Founding Fathers based in St Augustine. At first there were only three families living in what is now Oldsmar; two families from Carbon and one family from Black Jack. By 1840 there were over 100 residents living here with cotton plantations operating along Indian Creek just outside the town limits. In 1848 General Wilkinson realized that he needed more land to expand his plantation so he moved all his slaves northeast to central Florida where they grew tobacco until they were freed in 1865 under President Abraham Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation which ended slavery throughout America at that time. By 1870 there were over 900 slaves working on Wilkinson's plantations statewide with production totaling 3 million pounds per year. One reason for this high slave productivity was lack of available labor elsewhere on large plantations during this period due to factors such as disease or war efforts abroad; however many slaves also worked voluntarily for their white masters because slavery offered them few benefits other than food and work eligibility which was not freely granted to most Americans during this era
The history of Tactical Coffee begins with the coffee beans that were roasted in Africa. African coffee trees are among the oldest and most diverse coffee plants in the world. The first to be cultivated was the Ethiopian coffee tree, which is found in the Afar region of Ethiopia. In 1795, Hasan Pasha, a Turkish military general and president of Ottoman Empire, imported some thousand kilograms of Arabica beans from West Africa for his own use. At this point, Tactical Coffee was already well established as a commercial enterprise. In 1803, Colonel John Browning purchased an establishment at 1-1/2 miles east of Lexington Avenue in New York City for his own personal use. By 1813, Browning had opened two more stores and become known as one of America's leading retail caffeine providers. That same year he sponsored a competitive cup contest in which participants could win either a bag or container of his famous Italian roast coffee. Browning continued to grow Tactical Coffee into what it is today - one of America's most renowned roasters and retailers of fine espresso and cappuccino products. He passed away in 1865 before he could see his company Grower's Cup win another prestigious award - this time being awarded first prize at Lord Derby's exposition at Manchester England - but his legacy lives on through his son John Browning Jr., who took over management shortly after Greenidge died; then through grandson John Browning III who continues to run the business today with its signature blend Arabica beans from Africa

Oldsmar is a town in Monroe County, Florida, United States. The population was 2,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Jacksonville metropolitan area. Oldsmar was founded in 1875 by John W. Olds and James H. Patton as a post office on the east bank of the St Johns River opposite Jacksonville. The town's name comes from Colonel John Witherspoon Olds, who purchased land there in 1874 from Nicholas Biddle for $2,000 cash. The first school in Oldsmar was built on land leased from Joplin Bros., an early citrus grower and cattleman in the community. In 1899, local businessmen formed the First Baptist Church of Jacksonville to help promote education within their community and to provide services such as social welfare and public libraries. By 1907, Oldsmar had five churches and nineteen businesses established along its main thoroughfare which became known as Main Street because it ran parallel to that artery throughout much of its history In 1917, when Bridgeport-Rochester High School opened in Jacksonville after being closed for many years due to low enrollment, oldsmar saw its first student with his bicycle after buying one from an eastern resident for $5
