The next firearm purchase made by Capt. John Tilton happened in 1907 when he purchased a Thompson Gun from Hennepin County Sheriff George Taliaferro Jr.. This pistol became famous after being used in the movie "The Wild Bunch" which starred Heston Blumenthal as Frank Stroudziolli, one of the leaders of The Outlaws motorcycle gangsters based in Miami Beach, Florida during Prohibition time. After Captain John Tilton's death in 1944, his wife inherited his Thompson Gun which she continued to use until her death in 1984. In 1987, Lt.(jg) Rick Majerus who commanded Operation Neptune's Spear during Desert Storm acquired a Thompson Gun from Mrs.(jg) Anna Jaffe Majerus at her home on Red Lobster Island near Jacksonville, Florida during Prohibition time because they were both members ofthe National Rifle Association (NRA).AfterLt.(jg) Majerus' death in 1994, his widow sold the weapon to Sgt.(lt) Larry Keyes who served as Commanding Officer(CO) 2nd Battalion/1st Marine Regiment(2/1 MR), 3rd Marines at Camp Pendleton California during Desert Storm where it was displayed at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar until its donation to Orange County Museum of Art on December 14th 2003 together with 5 other rifles & pistols owned by Sgt.(lt) Keyes along with memorabilia related thereto
