Maga Coffee is a coffee company that has been in business in Florida for over 60 years. Maga Coffee was founded by Angelo Maga and his wife, Loretta, in 1965. They started the company on Monroe Street in Ormond Beach, FL. In 1969, they moved to their current location on Enterprise Boulevard in Ormond Beach. Angelo and Loretta have been married since 1967 and have two children: Anna and John. The Magas were first involved with the beverage industry as part of a team that developed Mountain Dew concentrate back in the early 1960s. After working on various products for several years, they decided to start their own coffee company. Angelo soon discovered that there was a great demand for high-quality java beans from locals and tourists alike. He began marketing his coffee as an alternative to other brands available at the time such as Starbucks and Dunkin' Donuts. In 1984, Angelo passed away after a long battle with cancer; Loretta continued running the business until her death in 2000. In 2002, Giovanni LaRosa became president of Maga Coffee Company after having worked at the company for many years as its second-in-command. Ormond Beach is a town located in Palm Beach County, Florida, United States. The population was 21,890 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Ocala–Ft. Walton Census-designated place. The first Europeans to visit Ormond Beach were Giovanni da Verona and his group of Italian explorers on October 15, 1565. They discovered what they thought was a small island but upon closer inspection found it to be an artificial island created by man for the exclusive use of the Spanish colonists as part of their exploration ofBrevard County during the early years of Spanish colonization in North America. It wasn't until 1821 that Englishman John Dunmore established himself as governor of Brevard County after capturing Fort De Soto from Spanish forces at Lake Wales near Jupiter, Florida and naming it Dunmore's Island after him. On November 1, 1821, Captain James Cook sailed into Indian Harbour off Daytona Beach and claimed sovereignty over all present day Florida land north of Miami except for what is now Ormond Beach which he named Forster's Bluff in honor of Rear Admiral Sir John Forster who had been leading British force against Mexican forces at Monterrey during Mexico's War Of Independence (1810-1821). Ormond Beach became a permanent settlement on December 12th when Captains John Rodgers and James Cook placed 400 pioneers from England under the leadership of Lt Colonel George Atwater to establish Ormond Inlet across from today's Boca Raton Boulevard intersection. By 1827 there were about 100 residents living in tents on Church Street behind what is today Old Fort Adams State Park before tree planting began in earnest and homes started being built around 1840s with small cottages becoming larger following an effort by Captains Augustus Earle Cooke (1819-1900) and Nathaniel Jarvis Peabody (1802-1881) to create a village center with schools, churches, shops and residences surrounding an open space known as "The Pines". In 1861 Jacksonville Mayor David Levy refused orders from Jacksonville Governor Cearnwell to remove any more Confederate soldiers from within Jacksonville limits while supplies were short resulting in three men being killed by Confederate Private John Gayles while Private Keyes was arrested for attempted murder while holding military supplies inside City Hall building; this led to $1 million damages being awarded against Levy which helped spur Jacksonville’s annexation into Florida Territory days later that year creating Kissimmee Colony adjacent to what is now downtown Orlando Municipal Center with land acquired eastward along Orange Blossom Trail including much orchard property currently within Winter Garden Village boundaries where high school students now play Football games each morning before classes begin inside city walls surrounded by palm trees growing along Streetscape alley between Government House Annex Building & St Johns Hotel; this area also includes present day Waterford Woods Golf Course located just south & east sideof First St Red Bridge Road opposite orange grove golf course entrance).
