At Naval Shipyard Plant No 1 on Dania Beach Boulevard, employees donated items like uniforms and tools to local schools during WWII while also donating supplies and techinical equipment used at other shipyards across America during that time period. Today’s NavyDeployedGiftHistory tradition began when PBA members Mary Jo Mastrandrea and Kathy Slater pooled their resources together to purchase an engraved stainless steel plaque recognizing USS Enterprise (CVN 65) Commander Vice Admiral Don Ambrose “Tony” Catlett with a gift certificate for dinner at Lighthouse Cafe & Lounge located at 3015 Dania Beach Blvd., Pinellas Park-Lauderdale Lakes area from October 16th – 18th 2009!
