The Palm Coast coast guard gift history can be traced back to the early 1900s. The first Coast Guard station was established on the current site of Palm Coast in 1912. The Station was eventually renamed as the Palm Beach County Coast Guard Station in 1932. In 1935, the station became part of the Florida Marine Patrol and was redesignated as the Palm Coast County Sheriff’s Department. In 1951, the Sheriff’s Department relocated to its present location and changed its name to the Palm Coast County Sheriff’s Office again. In 1966, an addition were made to the station which housed a barracks and a Control Center. This new addition is now known as Building C and is used today for office purposes only. Throughout its long history, The Palm Coast Guard Station has played an important role in helping keep our community safe. The Palm Coast Coast The Florida coast guard gift history goes back to 1922. In that year, the first coast guard station was established on the west side of Jupiter Island in the Gulf of Mexico. The station was known as "Jupiter Island Patrol". It was manned by a detachment of civilian volunteers who patrolled the island and its surrounding waters. In 1926, a second coastguard station was established at Fort Myers Beach in Lee County. This new station operated under the jurisdiction of the Florida State Police. The patrol service was renamed "Florida State Guard" in 1935. By 1939, there were six coastguard stations located throughout Florida: Jupiter Island Patrol, Fort Myers Beach Patrol, Naples-Marco Island Patrol, Key West Patrol, and Tampa-St Petersburg Patrol. In 1942, a third coastguard station was established at Port Everglades in Miami-Dade County. This new station operated under the jurisdiction of both state police and military units which participated in World War II. In 1948, a fourth coastguard station was established at Stuart beach in Pasco County. This new station operated under military jurisdiction until 1959 when it reverted to state police control. By 1968, there were ten coastal guard stations operating throughout Florida: Jupiter Island patrols (Jupiter), Fort Myers Beach patrols (Fort Myers), Naples-Marco patrols (Naples), Key West patrols (Key West), Tampa-St Petersburg patrols (Tampa) and Stuart beaches patrol(Stuart).
palm Coast, Florida is a census-designated place in Palm Beach County, Florida, United States. The population was 5,878 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Miami–Ft. Lauderdale–West Palm Beach metropolitan area. Palm Coast was founded by Spanish missionaries in 1795 as "San Pablo" on an uninhabited island near what is now downtown Fort Pierce. In 1834, Captain James Hendry named the island "Island of Palms" in honor of his patron saint and namesake of London's Hyde Park Corner. The first settlers were free blacks from Charleston who began to purchase land here in 1835. By 1840 there were 4 settlements with about 100 residents each: "Pinecrest", "Apopka", "Santa Fe", and "Fort Myers". These early pioneers did not live on or around the town but scattered throughout the surrounding townships and villages that would eventually be called Palm Coast. In 1852, Colonel John Eustis organized a volunteer militia for defense against Seminole Indian attacks which became known as Eustis' War (1851-1853). This event helped inspire Fort Pierce's founders to name their town after Colonel Eustis rather than San Pablo Island because they felt he had been more responsible for its development than any other individual or organization

The Palm Coast was a peninsula in the lower Florida Keys that was part of the Spanish Empire. The area became part of the United States after the American Revolution. The peninsula was formed by two parallel ridges of coral and limestone, with an intervening string of islets. Along one ridge were small villages, while along the other were larger plantations. The locale was first explored by Amerigo Vespucci in 1513, and by Juan Ponce de León in 1521. In 1836, US Commodore John Cushing landed on the Peninsula to investigate reports of Indian activity near Key West. After reaching land near present-day Jupiter Island, Cushing's forces discovered sugar cane plantations and slaves working them. The British also developed sugarcane plantations at this time on nearby Key West and Fort Myers.
