The Palm Coast Navy deployed gift history in 1969. A Flagship Squadron, the USS Oriskany (CV-3), sailed from Guantanamo Bay, Cuba to deliver gifts to units of the United States Armed Forces stationed in South Vietnam. The squadron's mission was to provide special envoy and cultural exchange opportunities between American servicemen and Vietnamese military personnel. Since then, the Navy has continued to send ships and sailors to support Operation Enduring Freedom. In 2013, Admiral Harry Harris keynote address at a symposium on "Navy Gifts of Peace" remembered USS Oriskany's deployment and its lasting impact on US/Vietnamese relationships. The Symposium also honored Rear Admiral David Loe with an award for his contributions to naval shipyards during the Dong Ha days of peacekeeping operations in Cambodia. This year marks 25 years since USS Oriskany departed South Vietnam for her final deployment; it is still considered one of America's most significant deployments in Southeast Asia.
The navy has deployed a number of gift items to various countries in the past year. These include small boats, large boats and even helicopters. All have been meant as a goodwill gesture, with the hope that the recipient will appreciate and use them in their own military or civilian life. One of the most recent gifts was a small boat donated by Albatross Yacht Solutions. The boat is used for fishing and can accommodate up to four people. It was sent to Aden, Yemen, where Yemeni fishermen were struggling to find food due to an embargo placed on the country by Saudi Arabia. Another gift was a large boat donated by MSC Group Incorporated. This ship is used for cargo transport and can carry up to 15 containers. It was sent to Bahrain, where there are severe shortages of water resources due to the Arab-Israeli War. All of these gifts have had one common goal: To help those in need and make relations between different nations more positive than they are currently at any point in history.

Naval officer barracks and a naval shipyard were built here during World War II, and since then, the city has been home to several navy ships. Today, Palm Coast is one of the largest naval bases in Florida and it houses both navies' USS Enterprise (CVN 78) and USS Jacksonville (CG 66).

Palm Coast was one of many small towns that sprang up along the Atlantic Ocean during the late 19th century as sugarcane plantations were established in this area and elsewhere near Miami. The first post office was established in 1892 and by 1915, when it moved to its current location on Biscayne Boulevard, palm coast had a population of about 100 people. The first major development in Palm Coast occurred around 1920 when Pabst Brewing Company built a large brewing plant on Biscayne Boulevard adjacent to what is now the palm beach library. This helped to spur commercial development in the community and help it become one of South Florida's most popular tourist destinations. During World War II, Palm Coast became an important naval base due to its proximity to both Miami and Fort Lauderdale. This gave rise to several businesses that continue today such as Lockheed Martin (now Lockheed Martin Aeronautics) and Raytheon (now ATK). In addition, numerous military personnel stationed here formed key social ties that persist into today. In recent years, however, much of what made Palm Coast an attractive destination has been lost in time: The city's only shopping mall closed down in 2006; access to beaches leading out into Everglades National Park has been greatly reduced; and many old homes have been replaced with high-rise apartments or condos. Nevertheless, there are still some interesting attractions available here including local fishing tournaments (held every other year), art shows at local galleries and concerts at local music venues.
The navy deployed gift history begins with the USS Constitution, which was commissioned on October 12, 1794. The Constitution served as the flagship of the United States Navy for more than two centuries and played a significant role in American diplomacy and war efforts. During her time in service, she received many prestigious honors, including being elected to be part of the U.S. Naval Institute’s first class of inductees in 1835 and serving as flagship during the Mexican-American War (1846-1847). She also became one of only four U.S. warships ever to be awarded both an Order of Friendship and an Order of Merit during her career. During World War II, the Constitution served as America’s largest warship and participated in every major battle along side other Navy ships such as HMS Hood, HMS Prince OF Wales, USS Enterprise and more. In 1945 she was decommissioned but returned to service later that year when Japan surrendered following World War II. She was then used by the Japanese military for training purposes until 1972 when she came under control of the United States Navy once again. Today she is still used by our navy as a training ship destination for new sailors or those who have retired from active duty. The USS Constitution Gift History can be divided into three main periods: before she went into commissioning mode; after commissioning; and during her years with Naval Service (19th century-1945). Before going into commissioning mode: In 1801, Congress authorized building five frigates but only one got built -the brig USS Constitution (1794) managed by Lieutenant John Stevens[1]. On July 16th 1802 while at Norfolk Virginia yard assisting others on Horatio Nelson's flagship HMS Victory[2], Lt Stevens handed his cutter over to Commodore James Stockton who commanded US Mediterranean Squadron[3] under Admiral David Dixon Porter[4] Commander in Chief West Indies Station [5]. Contributed largely by Rear Admiral Amos Dennett who arrived too late for this event,[6], Commodore James Stockton renamed it "Constitution" on October 12th 1800 upon recommissioning from retirement[7]. Over time, the Navy has gifted items such as flags, medals and insignia, as well as clothing and other supplies to friends and allies around the world.
palm coast is a small town in Marion County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,554 at the 2010 census. It was founded as Palm Beach on October 15, 1894 by Englishman Arthur Griffith and American woman Lillie Drexel. Palm Coast is located on the bank of the St Johns River about west of Jacksonville and east of Fort Walton Beach. The town was originally named for the palmetto trees that grew in its area. In 1895, Griffith donated land to create a community called "Pine Point" (later renamed "Palm Coast"). A post office was established in 1896, and a store and hotel were built in 1898. The first school in Palm Coast opened in 1900; it became an all-girls school known as Pine Point Female Academy soon afterward. The first baseball team played its first game in 1903; the team would later change its name to the "Griffiths Pirates." In 1911, Griggs Industries built what is now known as Griggs Stadium which served as the home field for both local high school football (the county's first organized sport) teams along with several other sports including lacrosse and wrestling before it closed its doors following Griggs' death in 1959. The Palm Coast region of Florida was first settled by Native Americans in the late 18th century. The area was exploration and trade territory of Spain for much of the early 19th century. In 1837, Congress passed a bill authorizing the purchase of land from Spanish colonists in Florida for $10,000. The purchase was made and land settlement began in earnest, with Englishman Captain John Stroud leading the first European settler party to explore and trade around what is now Palm Coast on November 3, 1837. By 1840, over 1,500 acres had been bought from the Spanish residents at cost or swap value. In 1865, after Seminole Indian Wars were fought throughout much of Florida, a treaty was signed between United States forces and Seminole Indians offhandle (now Ocala) which ended hostilities. This left the area free from Indian control until it became part of Florida in 1907 when Tampa Bay was added as part of its boundaries. palm coast
