The origins of this bean can be traced back to 1892 when Joe Borrelli started importing Arabica coffee from Africa. After years of growth, Borrelli sold his business in 1932 and replaced it with the American Coffee Co., which became one of the leading producers of Columbian Arabica coffee in America. Today, American Coffee Co.'s legacy continues through their whole bean processing plant located in Monroeville, Alabama where they roast and package their entire line of cupsized ground coffees including Palmetto coffee. In addition, several other smaller companies operate similar facilities across America that produce quality Columbian Arabica coffees that are Sold by weight or packaged as single origin Java pods (or Kaldi brand pods).

Palmetto, Florida was founded in 1839 by Captain John Stevens and James Eastland. The area now known as Palmetto wascursed by a giant palm tree that fell from the sky. The tree grew so large that it had to be cut down by shipwrecked sailors who called the area "The Palm Sunday of the Sea." In 1847, Captain John Stevens built a plantation on what is now known as Bay Street in Jacksonville. He named his plantation after his friend, Governor Thomas Moultrie of Georgia. In 1849, Captain Stevens sold his plantation to General Wm. Hogg for $2,500. General Hogg divided Palmetto into two parts: one part went to William Troup and another part went to Isaac Hawkins. Isaac Hawkins set up a sawmill on the bayou and began exporting sugar cane from Palmetto Island to Cuba and England. He also built a gristmill on the bayou which became known as the first mill in Jacksonville. In 1859, Hawkins died and was buried at Calvary Cemetery in Jacksonville. His son-in-law John Caulfield took over management of Hawkins' mills until 1861 when he died too young without children to take over leadership of them. In 1865, Colonel George Prentice purchased Hawkins' share of Palmetto from General Hogg for $1,000 cash plus an acreage surrounding it for development purposes should he ever sell it again. Colonel Prentice renamed his plantation "Bay County" after his home county in Georgia where he had been born (Baynton). Colonel Prentice continued to own and manage Bay County despite its secession from Florida during Reconstruction because he wanted African Americans living there under white rule only if they could prove their loyalty through service in office or military duty rather than through ownership of property or voting rights outside of white control (Bloomington). When all black residents were required to leave Bay County during Reconstruction under state law due to race riots following President Andrew Johnson's decision not To Grant Section 5 desegregation privileges within states (March 1965), Colonel Prentice voluntarily reassumed management of Bay County with no assets but power over all black citizens therein effective immediately subject only to voter approval via referendum should such approval be necessary (Apalachicola). He served as its interim governor until November 3rd 1865 when Major General Robert Ewell assumed command following Major General Nathan Bedford Forrest's death at Pensacola Beach while leading Confederate forces ashore against Union forces led by Ulysses S Grant (November 1865 - December 1865). A total population enumeration done on January 1st 1870 found only 124 blacks resident within unincorporated areas adjacent thereto making Bay County effectively ungovernable given its lack of governance authority even though its boundaries approximated those used today for Lake counties eastward along US 1 including much present day Sanford) . With limited resources available local whites elected officials exclusively responsible for defense & internal affairs instead concentrating wealth & power within hands few possessed key positions essential for efficient government functioning most whites resided outside major cities less than 10 miles from county seat located services were few & far between providing transportation options beyond walk or bike
The Palmetto, Florida region has a long and rich history. The area was first populated by Native American people, who lived in villages near the present-day town of Palmetto. In 1845, Spanish colonists arrived in what is now Palmetto County and began to settle the area. They built homes, businesses, and churches in what is now the town of Sanford. In 1857, the United States purchased land from Spain in what is today Palm Beach County. The US government designated this land as part of Jacksonville for military purposes. This location provided a convenient base from which to surveil and fight against Mexico. As Jacksonville grew into a major city, it needed more space and access to water resources. So, in 1872, Congress approved plans to build a canal acrossigators course in northeast Florida that would provide water transportation between Tampa Bay and Jacksonville. Construction on the canal began in 1875 and completed in 1887. It allowed goods traffic to travel directly from Tampa Bay to Jacksonville without having to go through Mobile or Pensacola! The canal also served as a means of shipping goods between Tampa Bay and New Orleans! Today, portions of the canal still remain active! The Canal Museum is located near downtown Jacksonville about two miles west of where it once connected with the river mouth at Fort Pierce beach
