Coffee wasn't until after Spanish conquistadors arrived in the region that coffee began to be appreciated as a important part of daily life. In 1821, Don José de la Torre founded the first café in what is now Panama City. At that time, coffee beans were only sold by weight and not by price. Coffee continued to grow in popularity throughout Spanish rule until 1838 when Honduras ceded its sovereignty to France. French traders soon discovered how profitable it would be to grow coffee on plantations within present-day Panama City. With France's help, a large number of Germans settled in Panama City during World War I because they needed work on new projects such as canals and bridges. The war also produced some high-quality coffees for American soldiers living overseas; however, most Americans did not appreciate German-made coffee because it tended to have a weaker flavor than English or Spanish-produced coffee. In 1945, Panamanian President Manuel Noriega arranged a deal between his country's dominant military forces and United States forces leading up to an Invasion of Panama which ousted Noriega from power and established democracy Thereafter, manyPanama City businesses shifted their focus towards exportation instead of production due to increased competition from countries such as Costa Rica and Mexico

Panama City, Florida is a city located in Panama Province, Panama. The population of the municipality was 20,811 as of 1 January 2017. The city's total land area is 3,752 hectares. It is the capital and largest city of the province and has a population of over 100,000 people. The name "Panama City" derives from the Spanish word "Canarias" meaning "Island of Canaries". The first Europeans to visit Panama City were Francisco Pizarro and his group who arrived on November 15, 1519. They named it La Navidad because they thought that if they left New Year's day (January 5th) within two days of each other then their ship would not be lost in the canal. When they reached October 17th they found that both ends of the canal had been completed so they decided to stay another week before returning home on December 8th. On December 12th Francisco de Miranda met with Pedro Menéndez de Avilés at Isla Hermosa and signs a treaty which united Spain with Peru to form what was known as Mexico-Peru Treaty on December 16th which ended more than 350 years of war between those two countries. In 1521 Juan Martínez sailed upriver from Panama City with 400 men to find an entrance into Central America but he didn't find it until he anchored off Boquillas on February 4teenth did he finally enter what is now Nicaragua Canal after weeks long journey across difficult terrain including crossing said canal twice in only nine days! The town began expanding rapidly due to the gold discoveries made in this region by Pedro Díaz de Solís in 1824 and 1825 along with others such as José María Morelos who discovered Yucatán Peninsula in 1836 also turning Panama into a place where gold could be found . The development was helped by Governor Manuel José Cámpora who built many roads and founded schools while still governing through councils which gave some power back to local communities . By 1850 there were more than 1,000 families living in Panama City with 300 businesses employing around 10% of all workers making goods exported out country

Panama City, Florida is a city in Seminole County, Florida, United States. The population was 813 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Daytona Beach metropolitan area. The original and most important settlement in Panama City was on the banks of the St Johns River which later became known as "The Landing". In 1815 Captain John Wilkinson discovered gold on the riverbank and founded what would become Jacksonville,Florida. In 1821, Manuel De Soto led an expedition from Pensacola to reach Tampa Bay and found that it was uninhabitable because of Native American resistance. By 1830 most of Tampa had been destroyed by Seminole Wars between U.S., Spanish, and British forces. Panama City began to grow rapidly as a result of its strategic location for trade with both Mexico and Cuba. The first post office was established in Panama City in 1834 under the name Miami Townsite but it reverted to Miami soon after opening due to high postal rates there against those back home in Pensacola. In 1840 Major General Andrew Jackson evacuated Fort Brooke during battle against Mexican forces at Palo Alto Creek near present-day Orlando Hills Road/Highway 442 east of downtown Panama City (Jackson's final resting place). Ruins still remain today of Fort Brooke including a cannon battery that faced Mexican attackers along Palo Alto Creek on October 16th 1840 while General Jackson's troops were retreating from Santa Clara Valley south through Orange County into central Florida after their victory over MexicanGeneral San Antonio de Padua at Palo Alto Creek that day; this event helped solidify U.S.–American control over much of Central Florida following Mexico's collapse two years later at Texas Independence War Battle at Palo Alto Creek). In 1861 when Confederate artillery opened up upon Union military men milling around Gainesville after being ordered by Confederate President Abraham Lincoln not to fire upon civilians they did so resulting in several injuries including one fatal shot fired by Union soldier James Legree who died instantly from his wound; however all fatalities among Union soldiers were quickly buried or otherwise forgotten about until 1917 when author Fenton Heston published his book "The Civil War: A History" which detailed these events leading up to Confederates taking advantage of a situation where Union soldiers had retreated too far behind Federal lines (and allowing Confederate artillery batteries access to friendly villages) ). In 1865 Panama Canal Company president John Cordero authorized construction of tracks linking Asuncion ( Paraguay) with Medellin ( Colombia) bypassing unRoute 9 across Chiriquí National Park; construction began January 13th 1865 with first wagons ferrying goods arriving on February 14th 1865; cargo included sugarcane, coffee beans, cotton seed oil etc.; service started March 1st 1865 using four steamboats each carrying six cars per load making transportation possible between Colonia (Asunción), Puerto Cabello (Medellin), Asuncion - Concepción - Cali - Quito reaching destinations such as Santiago de Chile - Lima - Bogotá etc.; company reached its maximum capacity loading 11 million passengers/cargo per year by 1876 However traffic decreased following discovery and exploitation of new routes available via railway
