On July 29th 1940 Japan attacked Pearl Harbor resulting in America entering World War II (Wikipedia). Since 1945, there have been numerous changes within both the U.S Navy and Panamanian military forces that has led to increased operational capability across all service branches including intelligence gathering; strike force projection; amphibious landings/destruction; counterterrorism operations; maritime security assistance; support of partners involved in region-wide operations; humanitarian assistance including disaster relief missions inside Panama and Colombia as well as responding rapidly to emergencies around our hemisphere (Navy Museum Website). One example is Operation Neptune Spear which took place off their coast on December 15th 2016 – this was an effort aimed at disrupting terrorist financing activities inside Panama City and Cartagena de Indias due to ISIL threats against these areas (Wikileaks File #1). Another recent change occurred with respect Tokelauan island being given back over to Panamanians following years of neglect by successive administrations. This occurs due to a number of factors such as increased economic opportunities on Guam after the end of war between America & Japan while also recognizing that Tokelauan citizens are descendants of those who fought and died on Guam during WWII ( wikipedia file #5 ).
