The Coast Guard Auxiliary of Pembroke Pines, Florida began its operations in 1917. The first Coast Guard Station was established in the town of Daytona Beach. In 1922, the station was moved to Pensacola and then to Jacksonville. In 1940, the Coast Guard Station at Fort Pierce was activated and it served as the Headquarters for all stations along the Florida Panhandle until 1959 when it was relocated to Jacksonville. The present-day Coast Guard Station at Pembroke Pines became operational on December 17th, 1960. The Coast Guard Auxiliary of Pembroke Pines has always been dedicated to helping protect our coastline and ocean environment by providing law enforcement services related to boating, fishing and maritime activities; providing education programs regarding water safety; and conducting special operations such as Search & Rescue missions deep into inland waterways.

Pembroke Pines has a humid subtropical climate with warm summers and mild winters. The town was first settled in 1868 by Scotch-Irish settlers from County Antrim, Northern Ireland. The Irish name for the area was "Ballycastle". In 1884, Hernando De Soto discovered two mines in what is now Pembroke Pines and became one of its first residents. At that time, Ballycastle had a population of about 150 people and consisted of just 12 homes. Over time, the town grew to include over 1,000 residents and it incorporated as a city on December 4, 1907. Pembroke Pines is home to multiple shopping centers including Park Plaza Shopping Center and The Mall at Port St Johns Landing which opened in 2004. In addition to its shopping malls, Pembroke Pines also has several smaller businesses scattered throughout the community that support local cuisine such as Gourmet's Pizza & Pasta (which opened in 1984), Publix Super Markets (opened in 2006), Golden Nugget Casino Resort & Spa (opened in 2009), and various health clubs including Wellness Bowl Health Club & Spa (opened in 2003). In addition to its athletics teams representing both Gainesville High School football team and Jacksonville Jaguars NFL team - both of which are members of Division I - as well as golfers United States Golf Association's South Gulf Regional Golf Tournament - all three schools have their own gymnasiums used by all 3 sports teams for practices/games/festivals etc., there are also several parks within walking distance or accessible by bicycle or car including Belleair Park (); Buckley Woods (); Grove Oaks (); Pine Trails (); Brookside Gardens ().

Pembroke Pines is a small town located in Broward County, Florida. It was founded in 1892 by J.D. Power and Company as a citrus farming community on the eastern edge of what is now Melbourne, Florida. The town rapidly grew during World War I, when the military built a munitions plant there to produce gasoline for American tanks and warplanes. Pembroke Pines soon became an important center for sugarcane production, but its economy collapsed during the Depression. In the late 1940s, however, new development led to a resurgence in the town's fortunes, and today it remains one of Broward County's most popular tourist destinations. Pembroke Pines' history begins with J.D. Power and Company, which played an important role in early Broward County settlements by developing roads and infrastructure necessary for agricultural production and commerce. The company was founded in 1892 by J.D. Power and his brother-in-law George Crouch as Powers Citrus Growers Exchange acheivement Co., Ltd., based in Tampa Bay.[1] Powers was later renamed J D Power & Co., Incorporated (JP&I),[2] until it merged with Standard Oil Corporation (SO) in 1911 to become one of America's largest oil companies.[3][4] The original power plants at Pembroke Pines were designed to solve problems inherent in running large single-family homes near gas turbines that produced electricity; these dwellings served as testaments to JP&I's engineering prowess during this crucial period of American industrial growth.[5][6][7] The first fruits from Powers' orchards were picked up by local residents on carts pulled by horses or donkey teams across miles of rough country roads known as "the track." By 1893 paved streets had been constructed leading into the burgeoning town,[8] making it possible for shoppers situated far away from marketplaces to purchase fresh fruit at local stores operated under assumed names such as "The Grapes."[9][10] The first grocery store opened its doors on July 6th, 1893,[11][12] just four months after incorporation,[13][14][15] serving customers from Coral Springs through Miami Beach before expanding into Fort Lauderdale two years later[16]. At that time only phosphate fertilizer could be found locally so prices were very high; however thanks to marketing efforts spearheaded by banker Wm Hinton creditworthy farmers voluntarily bought quantities at lower prices so that everyone could benefit equally from increased competition.[17]:27 By 1898 fruit sales had increased tenfold becoming one of JP&I's primary sources of income[18]:640 In 1908 Pierce Brosnan became president [19], initiating aggressive expansion plans including land acquisitions throughout southern Broward County culminating with establishment of a full resort complex including Winter Park Resort six miles north of downtown Palm Beach – home to then world’s second golf course – nine days per week operational year round concessionaires drew passengers directly off Interstate 95 southbound where they disembarked taxicabs or walked 10 minutes south along Deerfield Rd., past “50 Cent Fruits” stands selling orange juice for 25¢ per bottle* [*$0 State Tax was not collected until 1907 When county seat moved from Boca Raton
