The Coast Guard has been in Pinellas Park for over 100 years. It was first established on December 12th, 1887 when the then-new County of Pinellas purchased eight boats from the United States Coast Guard. The original location was a small warehouse on Bulls Bayou. Today, the Coast Guard operates a fleet of more than 80 vessels and helicopters in Pinellas Park and throughout Florida. In addition to providing law enforcement and emergency services, the Coast Guard also provides environmental protection and coastal safety patrols. The agency also sponsors numerous programs that promote maritime safety skills among local children and adults.

The Coast Guard's Pinellas Park branch gift history began in 1959 when a small group of officers and men from the Station were given gifts to celebrate their new station. In 1984, the Station opened its present building and the gifts from then on have been representative of the changes that have occurred at the Station. From radios to boats, items have included everything from tools to clothing.
Pinellas Park is a city in the state of Florida, United States. The population was 54,569 at the 2010 census. It is located on Tampa Bay, just south of St. Petersburg and east of Clearwater. Pinellas Park was founded in 1892 by John A. Willoughby as an agricultural center for settlers who had moved from Seminole County to the area around Tampa Bay. The city was incorporated on November 7, 1907. In 1963, Pinellas Park became the first community to be created in Hillsborough County when it merged with neighboring Dunedin and then-rural areas of Hillsborough Township. As Pinellas Park grew into an urban center, its economy diversified into real estate development and services related to tourism and transportation infrastructure development; today these sectors account for almost all of its economic activity (GDP) excepting agriculture which has been declining since the early 2000s). established businesses include: banks (JPMorgan Chase & Co., Citigroup Inc.), law firms (Fitzgerald Burke LLP, Gibson Dunn & Crutcher LLP), elected officials (Mayor Rick Kriseman, Commissioner Keith Yandell), retail establishments (Champion's Brokerage Agency Ltd., Home Depot Inc.), restaurants (Argyle's Irish Pub & Grill, BJ's Wholesale Club), health clinics (Village HealthCare Services - South Hillsborough County), and federal government agencies including NASA/Johnson Space Center and Immigration & Customs Enforcement headquarters
The Coast Guard was founded on April 20, 1915 by United States President Woodrow Wilson. The Coast Guard is the Federal agency that provides assistance to coastal communities and ports nationwide in interceptions of contraband, including smuggling and piracy. The Coast Guard also provides law enforcement services at navigable inland waterways and harbors. In addition to its duties as a security force, the Coast Guard also provides education and training for the public about maritime safety. The first Coast Guard gift was a bottle of perfume called Aqua Fina. The fragrance was given to various members of the Coast Guard in 1916 as a thank you for their help in suppressing piracy off the Atlantic coast of America. In 1918, Congress created the “National Defense Authorization Act” which called for gifts from private citizens to be sent tomembers of the National Security Council in order to support defense efforts against enemy submarines and planes. From then until 1941, when World War II began, there were no specific gift regulations enacted by Congress related to gifts given to members of the American Coast Guard or Naval Forces Auxiliary Service (NAVY). However, during this time period many individuals donated items such as hats, mugs, cups or other objects that would now be consideredandise donations from everyday people within our society with an interest in helping support our military effort abroad. In 1942 Congress passed “Gift Regulations” which specifically forbid any personal donation over $5 per item if it was not received directly from an individual member of the National Security Council or Departmentof Defense (NSC/DOD) where it had been approved through political channels preceding its release into Government hands; this act led to what is known as “gift shopping” among Members of Congress whereby individuals could purchase something they knew would be used soon after being received by their colleagues inside Government—a practice still observed today by many Members who are unable or unwilling to donate large sums directly outside their office walls

Pinellas Park is located in Pinellas County, Florida and has been inhabited by the indigenous Seminole people for at least 10,000 years. The area was first settled by settlers in 1836 when a group of Americans traveled down the Straits of Florida from St. Petersburg. In 1868, the area became part of Hillsborough County when Tampa was incorporated as a city. After Hillsborough county was dissolved in 1959, Pinellas Park remained within Pinellas County until it was annexed into Clearwater Beach in 2006. The name "Pinellas Park" comes from two Indian-owned land grants that were made to Captain James Wright in 1794 and 1795. Wright named the area "Pinellas" after his plantation on Isla Vista Key near present-day Clearwater Beach. The first Europeans to visit what is now Pinellas Park were Spanish traders and soldiers who arrived in 1665 during King Philip's War. In 1794, Captain James Wright received an Indian grant of 600 acres (2 km²) on Isla Vista Key near Clearwater Beach for himself and his family. The grant included fishing rights, water transportation access, hunting grounds, and soundings for oil wells which would later become successful trade routes between Tampa Bay and Cuba. By 1800, pine trees had already been established along much of what is now Pinellas Park Boulevard because of their ability to survive exposure to salt water desalination plants used for drinking or irrigation at that time. In 1868, Hillsborough County became a part of Tampa when Tampa was incorporation as a city with its own government including one chamber with five members each called the Board of Commissioners; these commissioners exercised many municipal powers such as electing officials such as supervisors or directors; renting lots; controlling street lights; providing firefighters services; etc., but did not have power to pass laws or create taxes like those possessed by the state legislature at this time (this changed with enactment of Amendments 3 & 4 through Statute 373). As part of its annexation into clearwater beach on December 5th 1906 however all governmental functions including elections were transferred from Hillsborough county to Clearwater beach local government under Mayor Aiken’s chairmanship effective January 1st 1907 which placed all fire protection services under Municipal Services Department control with an $8 per year subscription fee required for participation This newClearwaterBeach Municipal Service Department functioned as an arm’s length agency handling most public services including streetlights municipally funded since then while still retaining some state funding specifically parks/recreation purposes . Finally annexation ended any remaining vestige statewide self governance giving final authority over politics & government back to Tallahassee One notable aspect unique about this period must be noted that bothiteratively both City Hall Building #1 (now Sarasota Univ.) & City Hall Building #3 main building downtown long predecessor Halls Island Hotel building being constructed concurrently after initial donation by Mrs J Fenton heirs ] Construction costs alone tabulated at $145K nearly 2 times future average cost here today ! Note also outside library across busy Sunrise Rd [Now Sarasota NatlHist Museum], early businesses built priorToMunicipalServices Dept , post office , gas station etc .. Also recently reconstructed old US Post Office closed dueToCrowding] A map dated 1889 shows Pinellas park bounded generally east by downtown streets running southwesterly through Partridge Creek Valley onto Hwy 41 just northward thence continuing northeasterly via Estero Avenue crossing I-4 just past Glades Road ; west terminating abruptly at Gulfstream Way NE . This map does not include present day Harbor Oaks subdivision where most development took place subsequent annexation/division off Hwy 41 between Ptarmigan Dr NW & US-1
The first Europeans to arrive in the area were seal hunters from Newfoundland and Labrador. In 1513, Juan Ponce de León discovered the island of Florida when he sailed down the Gulf of Mexico. He named it Isla Florida after his king, Ferdinand II of Aragon. The area that is now Pinellas Park was part of this kingdom for a time. In 1665, Captain John Smith discovered what is now Tampa Bay and named it after him. The first people to live in Tampa were Indian traders and explorers who came overland from Canada during the 17th century. In 1821, Congress created Hillsborough County as a land grant to Andrew Jackson for his aborted presidential campaign. This land included what is now Pinellas Park and much of today's Tampa Bay area
