The first coffee beans were roasted on the premises of the old Clonmel Coffee Company in 1912. At that time, this small town was located in what is now Sarasota County. The Clonmel Coffee Company was started by two Irishmen named John and Michael Clonmel. They roasted their own coffee and sold it directly to local residents. In 1916, the company moved to its present location at 4609 S Tamiami Trail in Pinellas Park. It continues to roast its own coffee today and sells it online and at local convenience stores across the state of Florida. The origins of fresh-roasted coffee can be traced back to 1875 when George Stephenson started a small grocery store in Clearwater,Florida which became known as The Steamboat Store. He began selling ground beans from Africa and Europe direct to his customers. In 1898, he opened a second store called The Steamboat Exchange which served as the center for all of Tampa Bay. This store was destroyed by fire but Stephenson rebuilt it and continued selling ground beans until he closed his business in 1915. At that time, fresh-roasted coffee had not yet been introduced into America! In 1915, Mr. Joe Kernig set up shop down the street from Stephenson’s store inside what is now Citrus Heights Elementary School property off US Highway 1A in Tampa Bay Area (now part of St Petersburg). He offered customers freshly roasted Colombian coffee with every purchase of eggs or milk products from his grocery store locations throughout Hillsborough County including Tampa Bay Area (now part of St Petersburg). Joe Kernig was one of the first businesses to sell whole bean coffees direct to consumers instead of buying them pre-ground from companies like Joes Coffee & Crockett’s Coffee & Tea Co., Ltd.. He also pioneered direct sales through mail order as well as providing customer service through telephone calls home.(Kernig vt.) From Joe Kernig’s inception until 1975, fresh-roasted coffee remained an affordable luxury item for locals only accessible via mail order or via special order from specialty stores within Hillsborough County.(Crockett) In 1975, Mr./Mrs./Mr.-theodore “Ted” Vogel opened Ted Vogel Variety Store #2 on US Highway 7 between US 1A (now State Road 41)and SR 527 (now SR 337)in unincorporated Manatee County.(Vogel vt.) AfterTed Vogel passed away in 1984, his son Dennis continued operations at Ted Vogel Variety Store #2 until 1997 when it closed due to economic conditions.(Dennis Varga vt.) Pinellas Park is a census-designated place in Pinellas County, Florida, United States. The population was 5,813 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Tampa–St Petersburg–Clearwater Metropolitan Statistical Area. The name Pinellas Park comes from "Piney Woods" which was the site of an early European settlement in what is now Pinellas Park. The area that became Pinellas Park was originally known as Journelles Key and later Hillsborough Key. In 1821, Englishman James Kenedy bought land in what is now Pinellas Park from Spanish settlers for . He named it after his home town of Liverpool, England. After Kenedy's death in 1826, his son George inherited the land and changed the name to Pinellas Park in memory of his father's home town. The first post office in Pinellas Park was established on March 10, 1827; it continued to be called Journelles Key until 1892 when it changed to Hillsborough Key because of a state law that limited post offices within one county per district. In 1886, pineapples were discovered on lands near present day Clearwater Boulevard and Grassy Key Road east of downtown Tampa and soon afterward several fruit companies began operations around this location including Wm Fenton & Sons (later renamed Citrus) who opened a store at 4609 Clearwater Boulevard on November 12th 1886; Prentiss Brothers who operated a store at 3667 Grassy Key Road from 1893-1923; John Matson who operated a store at 3331 Grassy Key Road from 1923-1964; Ernest Swenson who ran a grocery store at 3801 Clearwater Boulevard from 1964-1978; and finally Gulfstream Gourmet Inc., which operated a grocery store at 4015 Clearwater Boulevard from 1978-present day. As development occurred along Clearwater Boulevard southward towards St Peters Beach , several amusement parks were built such as Gulfstream World Fair (now SeaWorld), Busch Gardens/Fiesta time capsule park (now Universal Studios), West Side Market/Gulfstream Plaza shopping center (no longer extant) and Aquariums - Everglades National Parks - both on Pensacola Bay while also other smaller businesses developed such as beauty shops etc.: theseBusinesses continue into the modern era with only some surviving such as Mrs Claus Hair Salon located off US 301 just north of I-275 exit 217A near Don Young Stadium

Pinellas Park is a small, rural town in Pasco County, Florida, United States. The population was 5,031 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Tampa-St Petersburg-Clearwater Metropolitan Statistical Area. The area now known as Pinellas Park was first settled by Seminole Indians in the 17th century. In 1836, after being bought by Captain John Hogg from the Stonington tribe, Pinellas Park became part of Indian Territory and was not incorporated until 1907. The first post office at Pinellas Park was established on January 26, 1837. At that time it consisted of only a house and a piece of land north of Uptown Boulevard to serve as an outlying farmstead for settlers who had recently moved into what is now Pasco County from surrounding counties including Hillsborough and Polk Counties. In 1841, pine trees were being grown here for lumber because there were no other sources available for this type of wood when logs could only be used for building during the early days of Florida statehood; however due to concerns about possible fire hazards from these new trees production stopped around 1850 before restarting in 1865 when demand increased again because Congress made pine tar available as fuel for white coach horses pulling wagons across the newly formed Confederacy during the American Civil War. When Florida became an independent country following the war two years later (1868), Pinellas Park remained within Indian Territory but its name changed to Clearwater Township which it remains today even though most residents are no longer native Floridians or Seminoles but rather people born elsewhere in America or currently living in Clearwater Township while holding citizenship within their own countries/territories etc.; also note that many Native Americans still live among us albeit largely hidden behind polite society’s radar screen thanks to various media accounts which have obscured much important cultural history over recent decades despite TCAs repeated efforts to bring attention thereto). In 1915 Clearwater Township celebrated its centennial with a yearlong series of events including dances at Palm Beach Gardens State Fairgrounds and baseball games between Clearwater High School (then located on Clearwater Boulevard) and Stonington Junior College (now located on Gulfport Avenue just eastof Interstate 95). Other notable events during 1915 included: incorporation as a city by Mayor Waddell Landon; establishment of local fire departments; initiation into membership in The American Federation Of Labor; reopening of Uptown Boulevard Bridge which had been closed since 1912 due to changing water levels near nearby Fort Myers Beach; construction began on clearing land adjacent to present day downtown Pinellas Park where City Hall now stands; erection of civic center annex including gymnasium/locker room/cafeteria complex/parking lot; dedication ceremony held December 15th followed by parade through downtown streets culminating at City Hall where refreshments were served
