Pinellas Park is a city located in Broward County, Florida, United States. The population of Pinellas Park was 727 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Miami metropolitan area. The City of Pinellas Park was established in 1915 and annexed by neighboring Fort Lauderdale on December 14, 1925. The name Pinellas Park comes from two pine trees that stand near the original town site. A post office called Pinellas Park was opened in 1915 and remained in operation until 1954. As part of a annexation process by Fort Lauderdale, the city's limits were extended to include what are now parts of Lauderhill and Sunrise Hills as well as portions of Miami-Dade County. The first industry in Pinellas Park was agriculture which continued until World War II when the park became an important military base for Air Force exercises and other activities throughout South Florida. After the war, many new businesses began to open up including several banks, a movie theater, some restaurants and housing developments such as Lakeshore Court which still stands today adjacent to Gulfstream International Airport

Pinellas Park is a census-designated place in Pinellas County, Florida, United States. The population was 7,986 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Tampa–St Petersburg–Clearwater Metropolitan Area. The community was laid out by Captain Andrew Bradford in 1837 as a U.S. military post on an island in Lake Worth called Bradford's Island. The name was changed to Pinellas Park after General James K. Polk named it for his nephew and personal friend Major General Robert E. Lee of Virginia when he visited the area during the American Civil War (1861-1865). In 1890, a general store and post office were established at what is now Westshore Drive and North Military Highway; both were later closed down due to competition from more important sites such as St Petersburg and Clearwater Beach. However, Pinellas Park continued to serve as a stop on local trains until 1948 when all US train service ended in Tampa Bay effective February 1, 1947 following the opening of Disney's new Central Florida park just east of town along Hillsborough Boulevard/ Military Trail
