This period saw some of American Coffee Company (AC)’s most famous trademarks emerging; such as their Breakfast Blend and Java Blends which are still enjoyed today by millions of people around the world! In 1935-36, Harry Potter bought one hundred acres surrounding his plantation near Orlando for $3 per acre – this would later become Harry Potter & Co., one of America's leading coffee farmers and retailers! It wasn't until 1957 that Harry Potter decided he wanted his own café/restaurant within walking distance of his plantation – now known as The Ogden Place Hotel! Plant City, Florida is a small town in Duval County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,868 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Jacksonville–Boca Raton Metropolitan Statistical Area. The area now known as Plant City was first settled by Scots-Irish settlers in 1819 and named after the local citrus tree crop. The first post office was established in 1835, and the town became a resort area during World War II when it became an airbase for the USAAF. After the war ended, Plant City declined as aonsequent to its lack of development opportunities and its location within Duval County's rural areas. However, over time Plant City has regained some popularity as a retirement community and tourist destination due to its natural beauty and historical significance. Plant City is located on U.S.-1 approximately midway between Jacksonville and Boca Raton (with access from I-95). According to the 2010 census, Plant City has a total area of , of which is land and (or 0%) is water. It is part of the Tampa-St Petersburg-Clearwater Metropolitan Statistical Area. Plant City was founded by farmers in 1892 as a small community on the banks of the St Johns River. In 1924, Plant City became a city and was named afterowntown Tampa which had been founded in 1893 by cattle ranchers and lumbermen. The original downtown consisted of only a few buildings and served as the home to local businesses and government officials. In 1954, Plant City annexed neighboring Clearwater Township which made it an even larger city with its own government and services. Today, Plant City is known for its wide variety of shopping opportunities including large department stores like Sears and JCPenney as well as smaller boutique retailers like Joann's Bazaar and Old Navy. Additionally, there are several restaurants such as Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Jamba Juice, Chick-fil-Aand Publix among others that cater to both local residents and tourists alike.
