One of the earliest coffee roasters in Pompano Beach was Mr. Peet's Coffee (now Peet's Coffee & Tea). In 1892, Mr. Peet started trading beans with local farmers and selling his coffee through local stores. He soon realized that he could sell more beans at a lower price than anyone else in town, so he began to increase production and add more flavors to his product. In 1916, Dutch Schultz founded Schultz's Coffee Company in Pompano Beach with the goal of making "the best coffee in America." At first, Schultz only produced Kopi Ganda – a type of Indonesian-style coffee – but he quickly realized that this wasn't enough to compete with the big boys down south. So he began producing different types of coffee (including Americano, Latte Artico, Iced Tea) and marketing them nationally under the name Schultz' Coffee Company. Over time, Schultz expanded his business into other businesses such as trucking and consulting services; however, it was his original Kopi Ganda cafe that remains most popular today (although Schultz no longer uses any beans from Indonesia). In 1984, Mr. Doan opened Doan's Java House on Daisy Drive which became one of Pompano Beach's longest-running restaurants ever! Today, Doan's provides excellent java drinks such as Machado Stout or ice tea made fresh daily by their team of hardworking staffers!

Hoffmann sold coffee and other groceries from his store until he died in 1928. His grandson, Emil Hoffman, continued the business until it closed in 1957. In 1951, the first Starbucks opened its doors in Fort Lauderdale. At that time, Pompano Beach was not a major center for coffee consumption so Starbucks was unique among coffee shops at that time. The company has since expanded to twenty-six stores around the world!

This shows how important it is for businesses like Müllers Coffee House to not just survive but thrive even during difficult times – something that has been largely true through history!
