Coffee has been enjoyed by humans for over 4,000 years. One of the earliest written record of coffee was found in Sumer, Iran. In Ancient Greece, coffee was roasted on an open fire and used as a medicine. The Egyptians favorite drink was coffee which they brewed from ground beans. Coffee became popularized in America when Dutch traders brought coffee plants home with them during their voyages to Asia in the seventeenth century. Coffee beans were first grown in Indonesia and then Africa before being shipped back to the Netherlands where they were roasted and packaged into Bohn contraband cigarettes called “Koffie” or coffeeplease . American soldiers stationed in Europe began bringing back sacks of coffee beans that had been traded through the area. These early settlers tasted this new beverage and developed a taste for it that is still seen today throughout many countries around the world. The first time that espresso was served at a restaurant was at Cafe Leon Italian Restaurant on 15th Street in Port St Lucie on November 3rd, 1912 by Luigi Castelluccio who ran it with his brother-in-law Stefano Sanguineti. It is said that Luigi cast ironed his own café mugs which he filled with hot espresso while he waited on customers inside the café. In 1916, Giovanni Giolitti opened Café Giolitti on 17th Street near US 1 south of Commercial Boulevard serving Italian cuisine including espresso and pastries daily from 9am to 3pm until 1962 when it closed its doors due to financial troubles. The last customer served at Café Giolitti was Angelo Morrone who ordered one cup of espresso after dinner service on October 5th, 1963 (the date which appears as typed into Google). In 1964 Harry Kosmidis opened His Place located at 801 E State Road 1150 east of I-95 serving Greek cuisine including spaghetti carbonara and gyros starting at 7am until 10pm nightly until 1984 when it closed its doors due to financial troubles; however, Harry left behind a legacy of delicious memories for those who dined there such as DJ Bongo playing records all night long or live bands playing all day long! A few weeks later another Greek restaurant opened up just west of His Place called Demeter’s while business continued to decline next door at Harry’s place until finally closing its doors too because no one wanted their food there! In 1990 Kevin O’Neill took over ownership of His Place from Harry Kosmidis succeeding him as manager until 2002 when he sold it to Donatella Crivello becoming owner/operator since then! At present Demeter’s Greek Pizza occupies space formerly occupied by His Place! The history of espresso goes back much further than these two restaurants alone though…coffee has been enjoyed by humans for centuries now! There are references dating back 2,500 years old where Offerungus refers to an drink made from sweet black pepper berries known as mugwort (Mugwort Harvests: Volume II) while Ptolemy mentions ground spices being added to water so that milk will not spoil (Geography III). According to historian Drudge Report “In 1847 Nicholas Nodkin noted how Turks could be certain they would never run out of coffee because every year production increased tenfold thanks largely to British investment (Nodkin – The Historyof Coffee): Tea plantations did not become established in India until 1839″ referring specifically back to 1847 where tea plantations were only established about 350 miles away from Bombay making sure coffee wasn’t lost forever ! So even though Starbucks may have started brewing coffee legally almost 50 years ago (!), we can thank our forefathers for having this incredible beverage available right here in South Florida!

After white settlement began in earnest on Palm Beach Island around 1800, several small villages sprang up around Captiva Key near present-day Port Everglades; these were collectively known as "the Keys" because they lay within Spanish territory when it was captured by British forces during the War for Independence (1812). As sugar production increased on both Keys starting about 1840, men began volunteering their labor to build canals and roads that connected various plantations with Tampa Bay and West Point Road at Little Havana – today’s Downtown Miami – making it possible for goods or passengers to journey easily between Tampa Bay and Plantations such as Cudahy on Clearwater Key or Fort Myers across Biscayne Bay without going through Havana or Manatee Cove. By 1855 all but one key had been acquired by private owners,[2][3] leading developers John Pemberton (born 1783) and Hernando De Soto (baptized 1785), nephews of explorer Manuel de la Vega y Ayala, who founded Miami along with Pemberton at mouth of River Okeechobee about 1840, turned their attention to developing what would become Port St. Lucie into an attractive resort town complete with large hotels/resorts/. During World War II many vessels were sunk off eastern Longboat Key due to flooding caused by Hurricane Ivan which hit August 22nd 1965; this Included USS Indianapolis which sank December 7th 1945 while Operating out Of Guantanamo Naval Base In Cuba And Also USS Scorpion Which sunk On October 15th 1943 While Operating Out Of Jacksonville FL And also USS New Orleans Which sunk On January 8th 1944 while Operating Off Puerto Rico She Was A Cargo Ship

The original Port St. Lucie was founded by Danish immigrants in 1836 on what is now mainland Key Biscayne beach.
