The United States Air Force deployment of the Peace Boat II in Punta Gorda, Florida in 1945 was a significant event in the history of air force deployed gifts. In 1945, SOCOM chose the Peace Boat II as their special delivery vehicle for this purpose. This boat was both unique and powerful. It could travel at up to 20 knots and could hold up to 18 people. Additionally, its large bow made it easy to navigate through tight waterways. The largest problem that arose from its use by SOCOM Forces was that it lacked watertight protection, which led to some accidents involving members of their crews. However, overall these were minor issues compared to what they were able to achieve using this vessel Yorke respondedentiously christened "Peace Boat III" after Major General William H Yorke who served as Deputy Commander-in-Chief (Air) at Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force Europe during World War II., Although originally designed only for naval units, the Peace Boat I proved itself useful when givento RAF personnel during Exercise Tiger Cub in 1950s; this exercise allowed American servicemen on board British vessels within NATO airspace while still maintaining international law and order ashore.. As helicopters began becoming more common in warfare throughout the late 20th century, ocean borne assets such as planes and boats became less common; however, SOCOM Forces have continued utilizing amphibious craft such as USS New Orleans (LPD-8)which served as part of Task Force 137 during Operation Neptune Spear – Fallon’s invasion into Iraq – 2006 .

The United States Air Force has been deploying gift history for many years now. The USAF Gift History Database currently has over 1700 items donated by air force members and their families. This paper will focus on the history of the deployment of gifts from the USAF in both past and present times. The USAF Gift History Database began being organized into gift categories in 1984. At that time, the USAF had only two chaplains stationed worldwide- one at RAF Mildenhall, England, and one at Wright-Patterson AFB in Ohio. Therefore, it was necessary to create a category specifically for military personnel’s contributions to global peace and security. The first Category was “Giftgiving For Military Personnel” which included items such as insignia, books, mementos or other personal items given as a token of appreciation to service men and women throughout the world. In 1990, another Category was created called “GiftGiving To National Societies And Institutions” which offered unique or unusual gifts to organizations like NASA or the Red Cross in support of humanitarian efforts around the world. These categories continued to be added to until 1998 when all military forces were amalgamated into one single Category- “Military Gifts” under which all types of gifts (including those not related to war) could be placed. Since then there have been several changes with regards to how military gifts are delivered within our country. First, FedEx became operational within our country in 1996 which made gifting much easier for our members on an international level. Secondly, UPS became operational within our country in 2000 which allowed us more control over how products arrived directly to our soldier’s doorstep! Finally, USPS finally implemented its own gift delivery program within our country starting in 2006 which gave us even more control over what products we sent out! Overall though these changes have resulted in a simplification of gifting processes for everyone involved- including members of the USAF! Punta Gorda, Florida is a small island located in the Gulf of Mexico and is the most easterly point on the United States mainland. The island was first settled by Spanish colonists in 1513. In 1821, Punta Gorda became an American possession after being ceded by Spain to the US as part of the Treaty of Paris following the Mexican-American War. It was designated as a US Naval Air Station (NAF) in 1942 and remains one today. The island's rich history can be traced back to its earliest days when Spanish colonists set up camp on Punta Gorda in 1513 after landing there from Vera Cruz, Mexico. By 1795, Punta Gorda had become a thriving community with over 100 residents and was home to a school, church and mission. During this time, sugarcane farming played an important role on Punta Gorda and produce such as bananas and oranges were exported to Europe. As American forces advanced into Mexico during the Mexican-American War of 1847-1848, they discovered that Spanish colonies were also under attack by banditry and piracy. To protect these possessions, US President James K Polk ordered Admiral David Dixon Porter to establish AAFS San Diego Bay at San Pedro de la Mission which served as America's main naval base for operations against pirates operating off southern California coast. As USS Commodore Perry arrived off Cuba in 1895 seeking recognition from Spain for control over Puerto Rico (although no action was taken), Commodore Porter decided that making landfall at San Pedro would provide cover for his squadron blockading Cuba while Perry sailed eastward via Yucatan Peninsula en route back home across Central America; this event is known as The Perry Expedition . Commodore Porter's squadron reached San Pedro about mid afternoon on July 1st - just before sunset - having sailed around Cape Horn! Punta Gorda functioned primarily as an airfield during World War II until it closed in 1945 due to enemy bombing raids; however some interesting military activity took place here including landings by Task Force 66 Commander Franklin D Roosevelt's " Fast Carrier Forces ", code name Operation Neptune's Spear , which targeted Japan's war industries along Shimonoseki Strait on September 2nd 1944; this operation marked only the sixth time Truman had authorized military use of carriers offshore of Japan since Pearl Harbor! After World War II ended, Punta Gorda reverted back to its original commercial heyday with continued production of sugar cane until it finally closed down due to economic reasons in 1984. Today much of what once thrived on Puntagorda has been replaced by development estates such as Playas del Carmen Resort & Casino & flewover shopping mall called Major League Baseball (MLB)'s Miami Marlins corporate campus ; however some remnants of prewar life remain such as historical churches such as Our Lady Of Guadalupe Parish Church dating back to 1903 which still houses its original parishioners' quarters/arsenal; furthermore many local maritime businesses continue operations such as Shipwright’s Marine who restored two historic sailing ships - The SS Bacardi Frigate #5 built 1899 and The SS Juana Diaz y Torres schooner built 1898 – both now moored within easy reach of shoreline visitor centers ashore or afloat! Finally there are several smaller villages scattered throughout uninhabited islands adjacent thereto still dotting Puttagorda landscape despite lack thereof regular human population because typically all suitable dwellings are situated inland when available whereas more frequently accessible coastal villages maintain their isolation usually resulting from lackadaisical approach taken by those living inland relative newcomers invariably seeking easiest way possibleto populate interior areas without inconvenience either through social hostilities ensuing or simply because they have no other choice!
