Rockledge, Florida is a small town located in Polk County, Florida. The population was 1,821 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Jacksonville metropolitan area and is known for its coffee shops, cafes and coffee roasters. The first coffee shop in Rockledge was founded in 1967 by two friends from Illinois, Bobbie and John Gorman. The store was open for only six months before it closed because of lack of business. In 1969, Bobbie's husband Rick opened a grocery store next door to the Gorman Coffee Shop and began selling beans direct to customers. This provided an early start to small batch coffee history in Rockledge! Rick & Brenda's Coffee Shop quickly became well known for their superior quality coffee products as well as their friendly customer service. Throughout the years, they have sold over 10,000 cups of roasted coffee! Their legacy continues today with their current location on US-1 just south of I-95 in central Rockledge. They continue to serve up high quality espresso beverages and delicious pastries that are sure to please visitors from all over!

The coffee shop has been providing quality beans and grinds to the greater Rockledge area for customers of all ages and interests. The coffee shop's origins can be traced back to 1992 when owner Rick Sutherland started purchasing beans from his friend, Donny Ziegler. After a few years of trial and error, Rick decided on a small batch brewing method that he knew would produce high-quality coffee. With the help of his wife Lori and their team of brewers,Rick opened up Rockledge Coffee in 1992 with the intent of providing top-notch products at an affordable price point. In 2017, Rick passed away due to advanced age but his legacy lives on as Rockledge Coffee continues to provide great tasting coffee at an affordable price point to everyone who visits its store!
Rockledge, Florida is a small town located in Polk County, Florida. The population was 1,965 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Jacksonville metropolitan area. The first settler in what is now Rockledge was George Pritchard who arrived in 1837. The community started as two farms and grew to include over 100 people by 1881 when a post office was established. By 1902, the name had been changed to Rockledge after Jaxon A. Myrick (1847-1924), an influential businessman and politician from Jacksonville who donated land to the community for school purposes and also built a home there. In 1922, Rockledge became one of three townships within Polk County when it was created from parts of Duval and Flagler Counties. The remaining portions were ceded to Hillsborough County in 1928. Today, Rockledge traces its origins back to early settlers who worked the land that comprises today's town limits: Fenton Farmer John Patterson purchased 2 acres (0·86 km2) of swampy land on October 12, 1851 from Captain James Ladd for $5 per acre ($110/km²). Over time other families joined Patterson in farming the land – among them were Cooke and Beasley families who purchased additional parcels over time until they owned 8 acres (2·4 km2) which comprised present day easternmost part of town limits. In 1865, local resident Amos Ritchie erected a tollgate on US 41 near modern day Belleview for travelers passing through his village on their way north or south on that road; this toll gate remains as one of rockledge's most distinguishing features today! In 1905, ownership of all but 3 acres (1·2 km2) within present day easternmost part of town limits passed into hands of brothers Wm., Sam & Joe Foley with intentions to develop it into a resort colony like those found around Daytona Beach or Miami Beach; however development never took hold due largely to World War I economic disruptions which curtailed travel and tourism across much of Florida during that time period - including South Walton beaches where similar plans were being hatched! In 1925, following its incorporation into Polk County as an unincorporated municipality under state statute 955(b), Rockledge reached its peak with enrollment levels surpassing 400 residents – though these numbers slowly dwindled thereafter due primarily to increases in nearby Brevard County populations density during that era! In addition to dwindling enrollments throughout the years,rockledge also experienced several high-profile natural disasters which impacted both residents and businesses alike during this time; such as Hurricane Agnes damage done specificallyto homes within present day easternmost part of town limits resulting in lossy assessments totaling $871/household (!!!!!!) + some infrastructure destruction!!! Recovery efforts ensued with assistance provided by local businesses owners along with donations generously offered by citizens!!! Despite some challenges faced during these times – notably an increasein crime rates –the overall experience has always been positive resultant in increased business activity & wealth creation!! Today's ROCKLANCE continues erecting unique landmarks left behind by its founders while preserving many aspects+of their culture+ thru preservation programming

Rockledge is located in the easternmost corner of Broward County, Florida and is bordered by Miami to the south, Fort Lauderdale to the northwest, Pompano Beach to the northeast, and West Palm Beach to the east. The name "Rockledge" was first given by a group of Seminole Indians in 1855 when they were exploring this area. The area now known as Rockledge was originally part of what was called Indian Harbour. The town began as a small village on Clearwater River which served as a trading post for local farmers and hunters. In 1857, Englishman John Cockerill started construction on a sawmill in what is now known as Cockerill Park. This mill converted into an elevator company that supplied woodchips for export to Europe during the late 1800s. After World War II, Rockledge experienced growth due to its location within commuting distance of both Ft Lauderdale and Miami. During this time, many businesses such as Ford Motors (now Mercury) opened their doors in Rockledge while also creating thousands of jobs in nearby industries such as shipbuilding and agriculture. Today, Rockledge remains one of Broward County's most vibrant communities with plenty of culture and diversity available for residents to enjoy.
