Safety Harbor, Florida is a small town located on the Gulf of Mexico about 25 miles south of Tampa. The community was founded by John A. Stuart in 1892 as a landing site for ships traveling between Tampa and Naples, Florida. With its position on the gulf, Safety Harbor became a popular spot for summer vacationers and boaters. In 1915, Safety Harbor acquired its first post office which served the community until 1951. In 1938, the first shopping mall in Tampa was opened in Safety Harbor by developer WOODWALK CO., INC.. The mall continued to be open until it closed in 1990. In 1990, safety regulations were put into place to prevent any future accidents at the nearby Tampa International Airport. These regulations included strict design standards for airports and high-traffic areas, as well as enforcement of infrastructure safety guidelines from local authorities. As a result of these regulations, many businesses moved out of Safety Harbor and replaced them with new stores or reopened under different names elsewhere within Tampa Bay Area. However, some businesses have decided to stay in Safe Harbour because they believe that it offers unique advantages over other communities around Tampa Bay Area: It has an easy access to Interstate 4 (I-4), making it convenient for employees to move between jobs; its location near major highways encourages development; and its small population size allows residents to interact more easily with one another than larger communities closer to Greater Tampa metropolitan area

The town quickly became a small fishing and smugglers center, and it remained so until the early 1900s when prohibition began to take hold in Florida. As Prohibition grew stricter, smuggling increased as well, and Crime rates in Safety Harbor skyrocketed. By 1920, safety had become an issue for locals and tourists alike; both were terrified of what could happen if they didn’t use caution. In 1921, the local authorities decided to close off all access tokeyswest beach completely due to concerns about alcohol being smuggled into Safety Harbor through the sandbars. This decision effectively killed tourism in Safety Harbor, as people no longer wanted to come there because they couldn’t swim or sunbathe without fear of getting caught up in law enforcement action.
