Safety Harbor is a small town located in the panhandle of Florida. It's known for its coffee, and the people who live there have been roasting beans since before Prohibition. In 1916, Harry Young started brewing coffee here and selling it to customers through a small shop on 12th Street. He continued to do this until prohibition was repealed in 1933. Today, Safety Harbor Coffee continues to be one of the most prolific small-batch coffee producers in the United States. The first source of beans used for Safety Harbor Coffee was El Cano Farm in Guanajuato, Mexico. From here, they took their roasted beans and shipped them directly to Miami, where they were sold by Harry Young himself. In 1977, safety Harbors first coffee mill was built, which helped increase production significantly. The mill is still in use today and produces over 1 million cups of coffee each year! There are now several different roastings available for purchase fromSafetyHarborCoffee, as well as a variety of flavor options including dark roastings (which are popular among locals), light roastings (which are more commonly enjoyed by tourists), iced coffees (for when it's hot outside), decafs (for those who don't like caffeine), loose grounds (.75 lbs/ keg) and pods (.9 oz).

Safety Harbor, FL is a city in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. The population was 17,521 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Miami–Ft. Lauderdale–Miami Beach Metropolitan Statistical Area. In 1907, the town was named after Commodore George H. Morrison who had helped build Fort Pierce on what is now Safety Harbor Island. In 1959, it became a city and was renamed Safety Harbor after then- Mayor Joe Biden's wife Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis donated $1 million to help make safety improvements in the community as well as promote tourism in south Florida. The city originally consisted of two small settlements: Pompano Beach and Miracle Mile which were each founded by phosphate miners during the early 1900s looking for a new source of income while they waited out World War I. Safety Harbor is a town in Monroe County, Florida, United States. The population was 5,752 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Jacksonville metropolitan area. The town was founded on November 3, 1887 by J. Frank Reynolds and Wm H. Latham as a small community known as "Aiken". The name change was due to fears of another Seminole War skirmish which took place just south of Safety Harbor in 1885. On October 15, 1889, an act of the Florida General Assembly changed the name to Safety Harbor after then-Governor Ester M. Bowen made it a state park with full governmental rights on October 12th of that year. On July 1, 1925, the town became an independent municipality when it annexed Melbourne Beach east of its border with Melbourne Beach Village; this annexation created what is now known as West Jacksonville Township and right up until that date Safety Harbor maintained its own government and had its own police department under the jurisdiction of Monroe County Sheriff's Office while Melbourne Beach Village had their own police department headed by Mayor Harry Fenton Jr.. On January 25th 1959 Main Street in downtown Safety Harbor was renamed Ethel Keys Boulevard in memory of local hotelier/restaurateur Ethel Keys who donated $2500 towards beautifying and expanding Main Street into what is now called Haley Square North Business District which also included development along South Martin Luther King Boulevard northward from safety harbor Blvd., Haley Square being one major shopping center for all aspects related to personal care products including high end retail items such as designer purses etc., together with other businesses located within Haley Square North during this time frame developing into what is now know as The Landing area outside safety harbor Blvd., which housed both restaurants (the original Black Forest Inn & Country Club) operated by Mrs. Keys along with various smaller stores before eventually becoming home to numerous large box stores over time including Home Depot
