Sanford, Florida is a small town located in Jupiter County, Florida. The population was 3,500 as of the 2000 census. The name Sanford comes from two German settlers who named it after their hometown of Salzburg in Austria. They were Jens and Kirsten Sanford. The first coffee shop in Sanford opened its doors on Main Street in 1907. It was run by Mr. and Mrs. John Anderton and their daughter Gertrude Anderton. In 1916, the Andertons bought the business from Mr. and Mrs. George McGeehan and renamed it The Coffee Shop at 1121 EAST STREET."In 1923 they sold the business to Harry Neelys who operated it until his death in 1954." After Neelys' death, his son Herb took over operations for a time before purchasing the business again in 1968 from Mrs. Alta Weisman." In 1972, Herb Neelys passed away and his widow Mrs.(Pat) O’Neill kept the business going until her own death in 1984." In 1990,Wayne Witherspoon purchased the store fromMrs.(Pat) O’Neill." In 1992, Wayne Witherspoon's wife Linda inherited the store from him."Since 1994 there has been only one employee: Msgr.(Bob) Gannon who works part-time.""Msgr.(Bob) Gannon has been with The Coffee Shop at Sanford since its opening day.""In 1998 The Coffee Shop at Sanford was designated as a Local History Museum by PCSUSA (the Professionals Committee for Smithsonian American Art)." Sanford started out as a small farming community with three families living on land that now includes Stonington Park Lake where you can find several businesses including an ice cream parlor which served up soft serve ice cream during summertime when most people enjoyed fishing or swimming; also nearby were two stores - one called Goodyear Store which closed around 1930s but still remains standing; while another store - more likely founded earlier - named Black Diamond Trading Post which occupied what is now known as Fourth Avenue"Then came coffee shops! First there was Harry Neelys' cafe which continued operation until 1954 when he sold it to Mr.'s son Herb who operates it today along with three other buildings on East 4th Street"That same year Ivanhoe Coffee & Tea Co Inc., located just east of town off US Highway 1 opened up shop servingup Grounds Roast coffee beans all morning until lunchtime"Afternoon drinks could be had at either of those aforementioned stores plus Three Fishes restaurant down mainstreet days later""After World War II things changed pretty drastically for Sanford with much of its industry moving away... except for coffee! That's right folks – back began!"In 1951 local resident Bruce Higginbotham established Higginbotham Coffee Company Ltd.,which became well-known throughout Central Florida for roasting their own beans and selling boxes of ground coffee direct to individual customers.""Bruce Higginbotham died suddenly young in 1980 so his father succeeded him""His son RickHigginbotham continues operations under the name Rick's Beans Incorporated""Rick Higginbotham passed away suddenly young too so his widow Colleen took over running things""ColleenHigginbotham passed away recently leaving behind four children"""The Higginbooth family continued running things into recent years but upon her passing eldest child(Angie) took over full-time running everything"""AngieHigginbooth currently runs everything out of her parents home though they continue to visit every month or so""" When Dougherty's Pharmacy first opened its doors back in 1927 no one really knew what espresso meant because Americans didn't drink caffeine then !!! Dougherty's Pharmacy specialisein giving you free samplesof different coffees each day along with someocolorades if your choice)"Doughertys Pharmacy closed its doors permanently in 1978 however their legacy lives on through their Coffeeshop memorabilia still being stored inside!"Today Dougherty's Pharmacies are open 7 days a weekand carrying many different brands such as Columbian Mist etc.","They have also started carrying replica keys made by themselves specificallyfor this location

The Sanford Coffee Company was founded in 1905 by Mr. and Mrs. H.L. Sanford with the goal of providing quality coffee to the community. The company grew rapidly, and eventually became one of the most successful small businesses in Florida. In 1964, the company merged with the Wilkinson Coffee Company, becoming Sanford-Wilkinson Coffee Company Incorporated. The company continued to grow and expand its product offering throughout the years, until it merged with JBS Landis Coffee in 1997 to form JBSLandisCoopers Cooperative Corporation Incorporated.
Sandford is a small town in Polk County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,592 at the 2000 census. Sanford is part of the Tampa-St Petersburg-Clearwater metropolitan area. Sanford is named after General John A. Sanford and his wife, Blanche Cushing Sanford. The first permanent settler in what is now Sanford was Abram Hance on December 8, 1835. He built a log cabin on an upland Piney River bottom known as Hance's Spring and lived there until 1840 when he moved to what is now Clearwater Township and founded a store there which he called The Bayonet Store. In 1851, Abram bought 2 acres (0 hectares) of land from George Ransom for $10 per acre. This site became known as Ransom Park after him and it remains one of the most important properties in the community today. In 1853, Denton Steele purchased 5 acres (2 hectares) of land from Abram Hance for $10 per acre from his brother-in-law Colby Aiken . Northwest corner of lot #3 still stands today with access to paved road leading to it from SR 41/SR 224 just west of town limits - this property becameknown as Steele Park after him too! When General John A. Sanford arrived in Polk County in 1855 he found only two other white settlers living near where present day Sandford sat – William Pritchard and Samuel Alcorn – who had come downcountry by wagon train overland from Georgia that year! It wasn't until 1861 when another white man – James Bogue – arrived in town courtesy of Rear Admiral David Dixon Porter during the American Civil War on horseback through central Florida (Porter's March to Jacksonville). Bogue decided to name his new community after General John A . Sanfords wife Blanche who resided at Clearwater Plantation northeast of town on lovely Lake Hughes Island! According to oral history preserved by Mrs . Mabel Beavers at her home within city limits since 1951, Drury Eller bought 3rd Lots #1-3 & #4 on November 17th 1865 for 25 cents each from JB Sargent for incorporation into this small village called “Sandford”! There were about 20 people living here then including 11 women & 9 men! We have included photos taken inside Ms Beavers’ home since she has been open every day exceptChristmas ever since!! On July 21st 1927 Drury died suddenly while out driving with some friends… so we will forever remember him fondly & good days ahead….. Joe Hill was a small business owner who started roasting his own beans in 1973. He used only premium quality ingredients and roasted them himself at his home plantation. Over time, Joe Hill's reputation grew and he became one of the most famous artisan brewers in the world. His beans were also exported to many different countries around the world. The next big player in artisan coffee was Starbucks Coffee Company. Starbucks started out as a small business selling bagels and donuts from their shop on California Avenue in Seattle,. Eventually they moved into making espresso drinks and other items from their own blend of 100% Arabica beans . Their success led them to open up more stores all over the United States . over time, Starbucks has become one of the largest craft brewers in America with over 6 billion cups brewed each year!

Sanford, Florida is a small town in Seminole County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,811 at the 2010 census. Sanford is located on the Apalachicola Bayou and was founded by Scots-Irish settlers in 1838. The name comes from a nearby swamp called Sandy Lake. The first post office in Sanford opened in 1841. In 1907, Sanford became part of newly organized Seminole County. In 1928, the town's white population numbered 3 inhabitants and its black population amounted to 2 people; however, this number decreased over time as most of the black residents left for better opportunities elsewhere in Seminole County or within Florida. After World War II ended, some African Americans returned to Sanford but they were few and far between and most of the community's businesses closed during the postwar period as many African American workers took up jobs in other towns throughout central Florida. In recent years there has been an increasing trend among Sanford residents to move away from their smalltown lifestyle and into larger communities such as Fort Myers or Miami Beach due to changing economic conditions around Orlando - both have seen significant growth over the past decade while Sanford has not seen such dramatic changes. However, given that Stanwood is only about 10 miles northeast of Sanford proper - making it easily accessible by car - many still maintain close ties to their ancestral home even though they live more than 50 miles away from it on various freeways or highways running through central Seminole County.
