At their meeting held at Sixty-second Street Armory they adopted a resolution condemning any law or regulation enacted by state legislatures interfering with the right to keep and bear arms within the individual states Constitutionally guaranteed rights enumerated in THE CONSTITUTION OF AMERICA PAGE 20 STATUTES AND REPRESENTATIVES thereof ARTICLE IV Section 2(a). Sanford is a town in Polk County, Florida, United States. As of the 2010 census, its population was 21,563. Sanford was founded by648 settlers on the Ponce de Leon River in 1827. The first post office was established in Sanford on December 8, 1827. In 1841, Sanford became a county seat and incorporated as a city under the name of Jacksonville. However, Jacksonville never gained full control over Sanford and it reverted to its original name after Jacksonville annexed Sanford in 1907. The city changed back to Sanford after being renamed for General John A. Seminole by the City Council on October 26, 1927 following his death at an early age at Fort Brooke military base near Tampa Bay. In 1912, Sanford voters chose to annex Plantation Key east of town which would have given the city more land but it passed with only 2/3s of the vote against annexation because some residents feared that their homes would be taken away if they joined Plantation Key into the city limits! On July 20th 1922- just one year before he died- General John A. Seminole had named his estate "Seminole" estates adjacent to Plantation Key - becoming now known as "John A." Seminole Place - making him one of America's earliest Hispanic celebrities and giving rise to what would become known as "John A.'s Boulevard". The first school built in Sanford were two wooden buildings constructed by citizens using donated money from local farmers during 1828- 1830 period; these buildings are still standing today and are used for educational purposes today (along with other historical artifacts from that time). It should also be noted that not all of this downtown development took place until later years; much progress actually happened starting around 1850 when Stonington Road began serving as a commercial thoroughfare running through central Sanford providing access to mills businesses along its length while also connecting various neighborhoods within town center including what is now downtown where retail stores such as Woolworth's started opening up soon afterwards (and continuing until present day!). One interesting fact about our history here is that several famous people were born or raised here – most notably (but not limited to) President Franklin D. Roosevelt who spent many summer vacations here when he was young while working on his political career; segregationist Governor George Wallace who made national headlines when he appeared at a park in nearby Live Oak Gardens wearing nothing but white tights and speaking out against racial segregation; author Harper Lee who grew up down the street from her home here before going on to write Pulitzer Prize winning novel “To Kill a Mockingbird”; golfer Arnold Palmer whose father owned property adjoining Live Oak Gardens which eventually led him to develop golf courses throughout Southern Florida – including puttingtables located inside major league baseball stadiums today! And finally… legendary wrestler Hulk Hogan who once resided here while training for professional wrestling matches – something we can all learn from !
