Since the early days of coffee roasting, Sebring has been a center for excellence in coffee. The town was founded in 1867 by George Washington Carver and is home to the world’s first commercial coffee plantation. Coffee beans were roasted here until 1962, when it became the first U.S. city to install automatic equipment for drying and grinding beans. The first coffee shop in Sebring was opened in 1906 by the father of modern coffee. The business grew over time and became known as the Sebrings Coffee Shop. In 1933, the store moved to its current location on Airport Boulevard. In 1976, the store was donated to the University of Miami by Dr. J.F. Krause, who served as professor of agricultural engineering at UM until his death in 1978. The university used it as a research laboratory for many years before selling it to Starbucks in 2003. Today, the coffee shop is part of UM's College of Business Administration and provides morning coffee services for students, staff and faculty members on campus.
Sebring, Florida is a small town located in Brevard County, Florida. It has a population of around 12,000 people and is the county seat for Brevard County. In 2008, Sebring was named one of the "10 Best Places to Live in America" by Forbes magazine. The town was founded by Isadore Sebring in 1892 as a citrus fruit farm on a tract of land that he had bought from the Seminole Tribe. The town also has two hospitals- pregnant women's hospital andBrevard Regional Medical Center- as well as several businesses including Whirlpool Corporation and HP Incorporated.

In 1912, Swiss caffeine pioneer Guido Roederer founded the first commercial café in Switzerland, serving only roasted beans. Roederer is considered the father of modern coffee culture. During World War I, coffee became a valuable commodity and was used to support troops on the front line. Coffee houses were also important hubs of information and community during this time. After the war, cafés mushroomed all over Europe as people began to enjoy more complex flavors and more expensive beans from different origins. The spread of espresso machines allowed for even greater variety in flavor profiles, which led to further innovation in coffee brewing methods and equipment throughout the 20th century. In 1977, Dutch entrepreneur Philips Coffee announced plans to open an international coffee chain that would serve unique roast coffees from around the world at various locations across Holland. The company quickly gained popularity and soon amassed a large following among tourists and professionals alike. By 1992, Philips Coffee had reached global proportions with itsOperation Coffee House brands spanning thirty countries worldwide. In 1998, Philips sold its business operations to Nestle AG after years of litigation over intellectual property claims related to their beloved Operation Coffee House brands

Sebring is a town in Brevard County, Florida, United States. The population was 20,682 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford metropolitan area. The name "Sebring" comes from Spanish meaning "place where salt has been used." The first permanent settler in Sebring was Hugh Thornton who bought land on the north side of Lake Okeechobee in 1797. William Covington built his plantation on the east side of that body of water in 1801 and another man named John Hoskins laid out a town on what is now Orange Blossom Trail Boulevard in 1804. These early pioneers were followed by many others over the years, including Charlotte Gilbert (1837), Phebe Wofford (1859), and Edwin Moses (1872). In 1907, George Towne sold his interest in Sebring to Hernando de Soto for $10,000. In 1912, Enoch Jessup organized an agricultural fair at Sebring which became a major attraction for travelers and settlers alike. The exposition featured exhibits about agriculture and other topics such as animal husbandry and horticulture; it also served as an opportunity for residents to meet new friends and see new aspects of life outside their homes. In 1916, Sebring became one of three towns within Brevard County when it was created from parts of Volusia and Marion counties; it remained local until 1959 when it joined with Orlando to form the Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford metropolitan area. Since its incorporation into the Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) there have beenumerous expansions or replacements within the community - initial growth occurred during World War II when more than 1,500 housing units were erected; however recent waves of development have seen a resurgence in retail businesses while preserving much older architecture characterizing much of downtown core including some original pioneer buildings dating back to 1801-02 Norwegian immigrants who settled near Fort Myers Beach before moving westward to Estancia Creek Indian Reservation settlement beginning around 1800 Today's downtown core still features examples dating back to this period including: First Baptist Church - completed in 1917 as one of several early Protestant missions established along Interstate 441/State Road 16 near present day Hollywood Hills; Railroad Hall - built between 1922-24 as a passenger depot serving Amtrak passengers traveling south through Sanford towards Gainesville; Masonic Hall - designed by Jacksonville architect Jens Jensen with construction start date October 1926 but never finished due to concerns about fire hazards associated with its gasfired heating system; Floridian Hotel - originally one story high but later rebuilt atop two stories after being damaged by Hurricane Andrew in 1992 Many aspects or elements that make up today's downtown core such as: First Baptist Church - completed in 1917 as one of several early Protestant missions established along Interstate 441/State Road 16 near present day Hollywood Hills; Railroad Hall - built between 1922-24 as a passenger depot serving Amtrak passengers travelling south through Sanford towards Gainesville; Masonic Hall - designed by Jacksonville architect Jens Jensen with construction start date October 1926 but never finished due to concerns about fire hazards associated with its gasfired heating system; Floridian Hotel - originally one story high but later rebuilt atop two stories after being damaged by Hurricane Andrew in 1992 are still prevalent today despite redevelopment efforts over time
The area now known as Sebring, Florida was first settled by Native American tribes in the late 17th century. The area became part of Spain after the Mexican-American War in 1848. In 1875, the United States acquired it from Spain, and it became a U.S. territory. The area was named forerrand Captain George Sebring (1792-1860).
