In the early years of the air force, Gifts were given to members of the military and then to civilians. The first gift given to the Air Force was a set of binoculars in 1944. In 1951, a plane was gifted to the Air Force by Mr. and Mrs. Harry S. Truman. Since that time, gifts have been given on an annual basis with most gifts being given in February or March because that is when Air Force Memorial Day is celebrated in Florida. The Generals who led America during World War II received many unique items from American manufacturers such as radios, artillery pieces, fighter planes and ships. Some General's aircraft could be seen at bases all over the United States while others are still on active duty or storage in museums around the country. It is interesting to note that not all Generals received gifts for their service during World War II; some generals like George Patton did not receive any type of gift until after his death in 1945! Some air force personnel have donated their time and/or money towards giving back to society by residing at barracks where they provide meal service for soldiers and children living near bases around Florida each year on Easter Sunday (Easter egg day). This event is also known as "Gift Day" within the USAF because many items are donated such as candy bars, cigarettes and food products (usually hot dogs).

Air Force deployments are important not just for the safety of those deployed but also for the sending nation as a whole. They allow us to provide humanitarian assistance overseas while also keeping our people safe on home soil. In fiscal year 2016, the Air Force provided more than 4,500 international flights with passengers numbering close to 153,000. This range from flights carrying humanitarian supplies such as food or medical help to transport troops back into their units when they return from engagements outside America to fly cargo planes carrying goods that will help support military efforts on-the-ground. Deployments are also necessary for training personnel for future assignments overseas or within our own borders should something occur which would require them be called into action. For example, Operation Neptune’s Spear was conducted in Afghanistan in 2009 and required some 7,000 American servicemen and women to serve in three months – twice what was originally planned. The deployment taught many new skills essential for future missions such as how to work with local officials and insurgents alike as well as how best respond during combat situations. Overall, deployments offer an opportunity for us all to come together and learn new things about one another while helping others who may need it most. I believe that air force deployments are essential not only because they have positive effects on our societies but because they can often be very costly too - sometimes even life-changing!

Seminole, Florida is a small town located in the Miami-Dade County area of South Florida. The population was 12,815 at the 2010 census. Seminole is bordered to the south by Coral Gables, to the north by Hollywood Hills and to the east by Lantana. It is part of Miami-Dade County. Seminole first settlements date back to 1822 when Major James Witherspoon established a military post on current day Seminole Island. He named it after his native state of Scotland and its capital city Edinburgh. The name "Seminole" was also given to a group of islands in Lake Okeechobee which are now known as Key Biscayne National Park. In 1885, Colonel John Suggs donated land for a community on what is now Seminole island near where he had been living since 1848 as an officer with Confederate forces during the American Civil War. The colony's first residents were white Baptists from Georgia who arrived in large numbers starting in 1886 under leadership of Reverend J.C Hardeman and Drs John A Mosely and William Fenton Woodson Jr.. In 1907, local developers built one of South Florida's most successful shopping malls – The Seminole Mall – on an 8 acre (3 km²) tract that included much of what is today Seminole Boulevard downtown. At that time, it was one of only two shopping malls in South Florida open to all income levels and served as such until 1977 when it closed due to economic recession brought about by hyperactivity at nearby Mall Of America . This mall remains one of downtown Seminoles longest continuously operational businesses with over 60 years history! Today’s anchors include Macy’s, Sears & Kmart, JCPenney & Lowes, and Abercrombie & Fitch!. In recent years investment has been focused on redeveloping much older properties around downtown including: the old jail site (now home to Bayfront Park), former Stonington Naval Shipyard (now Downtown Renewal Center), BankAtlantic CenterFormerly Home Depot/ Lowe’s/H&M/, Pensacola Landing Marina redevelopment project - comprising 5 acres (2 hectares) surrounding Pensacola Harbor off Port Isabel Drive - anchored by Hyatt Regency Resort Pensacola Waterfront Hotel; Pritchett Place development housing developments containing more than 1 million sq ft (891 m²) each located along busy US 41 corridor just northwest of downtown Pensacola; State Fairgrounds property adjacent SR 30 between mile marker 214 (Exit 114 for I-95) and Gulfstream Airport providing vast parking garage resources for numerous future mixed use projects totaling more than 4 million sq ft (.15 km²).

The Seminole people are an aboriginal tribe that settled in what is now Seminole County, Florida, between the 18th century and the early 20th century. The tribe today numbers about 2,500 members. The Seminoles were their own distinct culture and language until the arrival of European settlers in the late 18th century. They soon began to adopt aspects of European culture, including Christianity. In 1917, a group of Seminoles led by Chief Osceola moved from their traditional hunting grounds in central Florida to Mosquito Creek reservation in eastern Tampa Bay. There they started a new society based on agriculture and self-reliance. The reserve was used as a base for guerrilla warfare against Spanish colonists and American troops during World War II. After the war, many of the original Seminoles returned toFlorida but some continued to reside on Mosquito Creek Reservation through various incarnations including modern day Tribe of Muscogee Indians (TIMs). Today there are over 1,000 TIMs living within Indian Country proper while another 2,500 or so Tims live scattered around Central Florida. Aspects of their history still resonate with them today: traditional music and dance (the Timpawa), foodways (fishing and trapping), hunting methods (kiting) and land management practices (cattle ranching).
In 1835, Seminole Indians were forced from their land in southeastern Florida by the United States. The Seminoles fought back and successfully resisted U.S. efforts to relocate them to reservations in Indian Territory. In 1855, the US Congress passed the Emancipation Proclamation, which ended slavery in America. As a result of this event, the Seminoles that remained on their land were allowed to keep their independence and continue practicing traditional Native American practices such as hunting, fishing and warfare.
