They would sell their products to local gun stores and businesses throughout the Sunshine State. Dutch would continue to shoot until his death in 1982.
Seminole is a small town in Seminole County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,693 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford metropolitan area. The Seminole people are descended from descendants of the native Alafia Indians who lived on the island until about 1819 when they were forced to leave by Spanish settlers. They started their own village on Mocama Island and named it after an old chief of theirs, Seminole Bayou (now known as Big Piney Creek). In 1821, they moved their village to what is now Seminole Heights and continued to call themselves "the Seminoles". In 1845, Andrew Jackson became president of the United States and decided that all Native Americans living in Florida should be removed except for those living east of Lake Okeechobee. This led to a bloody war with Spain over land ownership which ended in 1848 with Spain ceding sovereignty over most of Florida to America. The US then set up its military presence on Apalachicola Peninsula and began evicting Native Americans one by one in what is known as The Removal Movement. The last surviving Alafia Indian tribe was finally pushed out of their ancestral homeland by American forces in 1898 during The Alabama Massacre. As a result of this event, many Alafia-speaking Seminoles lost their language and culture while also losing any hope for reclaiming it through peaceful means – though some sporadic efforts have been made since then among some scattered remaining families.
