It would remain open until it closed in 1984. In that year, The Coffee Shop moved to 459 Main Street and continued to serve delicious coffee until it closed as well in 1985. Then, from 1986-1990, The Coffee House operated out of a small storefront at 519 North Main Street before moving to 620 East First Avenue where they remains today. They have been serving delicious coffee since then!

It is part of the Miami-Dade County metropolitan area and has a mailing address of 4500 Collins Avenue. South Daytona is bordered by Boca Raton to the south, Fort Myers to the east, Miramar to the north and Cutler Bay to the west. The town began as an agricultural community on Lake Marion near present-day I-95 and US 1. In 1840, it became a fashionable resort for wealthy Floridians due to its clear turquoise waters and sandy beaches. The name "South Daytona" originated from English settlers who thought it sounded like "southern dune". By 1865, most of what is now South Daytona had been developed as a resort town with white people only living in summer homes or vacation rentals while black Americans worked in agriculture or service jobs such as laundrymen or carpenters. African Americans were not allowed into many aspects of society until after World War II when they were gradually integrated into education and work systems throughout Florida. In 1957, two brothers named John Mikesell (1908-1998) and Don Mikesell (1920-2005) purchased land adjacent to then unincorporated Mobile Beach on which they built "Midsomer Murders" beachfront home that still stands today overlooking Gulf Water Boulevard (now State Road 10). They also started an amusement park called "Bally's" which closed in 1978 but reopened in 1984 after being remodeled by Rick Steves under his travel company Travelocity brand name AdventureLand USA Incorporated.. The townsite was laid out on foursquare blocks grid pattern with: 3rd Street North; 4th Street East; 5th Street West; Park Lane North; Battery Park Drive Southwestern corner lot facing Indian River Lagoon between Manatee & Sarasota counties lines." Starting with just one block on each side of Park LaneRoad - this would create long blocks ending at Indian River Lagoon/Laguna mouth providing plenty of open space for development including both residential subdivisions typical during post World War II coastal real estate boom periods as well as hotels/motels needed for tourists visiting southern FL during summer season along with lakeside activities necessary for residents engaged primarily in fishing, swimming & boating

On July 15, 1959, the Daytona Beach Board of Commissioners voted to annex more than 1,500 acres of land in South Daytona Beach. The annexation also increased traffic on State Road 12 from Daytona Beach to South Daytona.
