The St. Cloud National Guard was activated on November 1, 1947. The unit was originally called the Florida National Guard and was organized as a regiment of the United States Army Reserve. On July 1, 1949, the Regiment was redesignated as the 352nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, National Guardsmen and became an activated reserve brigade with headquarters at Tallahassee, Florida. The brigade served inactivated at Fort Sill Oklahoma City on September 14, 1960 before being reactivated at Redstone Arsenal Alabama on October 17th under command of First Lieutenant Colonel Dean Pogue. The brigade served inactivation again at Fort Benning Georgia on May 19th 1966 before again being reactivated at Tallahassee Florida on October 17th under command of First Lieutenant Colonel Dean Pogue. On November 1st 1947 the 352nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team became part of St Cloud's first military installation when it arrived from Fort Sill Oklahoma City to become part of the city's National Guard Memorial Park where it remains today as one of St Cloud's most popular tourist attractions
St. Cloud is a city in central Florida, United States. The population was 37,171 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of St. Cloud County and home to the University of Minnesota Saint Cloud campus. The first European settlers in what is now St. Cloud were French fur traders who arrived in 1795 and named it La Pointe-aux-Monts (the point where the mountain peaks meet). In 1824, James Kenedy founded Kenedyville on a site which he later donated to the town of Minneapolis as part of that city's donation to become an official U.S. town on December 14, 1825. In 1828, Captain John Hennepin discovered gold near Fort Snelling and claimed land for Minneapolis; however, no gold was found on his discovery and he abandoned his claim in 1829 after a short exploration trip with Lieutenant Jesse Loring under cover of night while Hennepin was away on another expedition into Lake Superior Territory.. According to the 2000 census there are 35 businesses operating in downtown St cloud alone employing over 100 people! This number may not include service companies like restaurants etc that don't open until 5pm or so because they're closed during business hours during winter months! There are also several small factories that make things like candles or toys near downtown but they don't produce anything worth selling because most people live close to home or work elsewhere these days! Downtown has been growing quite some since becoming an unincorporated village back around 1865 when only about 25 people lived there! Nowadays many people move here permanently due to good schools (Saint Cloud offers excellent public education), easy access to services like shopping malls and hospitals right outside our door as well as plenty of green space if you want it!!

The first national guard units were raised in New England and Pennsylvania. In 1861, the United States Army created the First Regiment of California Volunteers as part of its effort to suppress Confederate forces in that state. In 1866, Congress passed the Morrill Act, which provided for a system of compulsory military service among citizens of certain states. That same year, President Andrew Johnson signing legislation authorized the creation of two more regiments: one in Texas and one in Minnesota. These new brigades soon became activated and played an important role in suppressing violence during the Civil War.
The town of St. Cloud, Florida was founded in 1881 byodus jones and his wife, Hannah. The first settlers were farmers who began to arrive in the area around what is now St. Cloud in the early 1800s. By 1886, there were over 100 people living in the town. The original courthouse was built in 1892 and it served as the center of community life for many years. In 1907, a post office was established in the town and it remained an issue until 1923 when a new post office was constructed on Oldereid Road. In 1916, a general store opened and it continued to serve as the central business district for many years. A cotton gin and mill were built within the limits of St. Cloud in 1922 and 1924 respectively. On December 14, 1925, George Husted became head of schools for all school districts within Polk County when he was appointed by Governor John Aspinwall; Husted had earlier been elected as superintendent of public instruction for Pinellas County (now Hillsborough County). Under Husted's leadership, enrollment increased from 2,000 students to 30,000 students by 1932; during his tenure at Stcloud High School (1928-1932), baseball coach Bud Wilkinson led the school to its first state championships (in 1931 and 1932). In 1928-1932 also saw significant growth at Roosevelt Elementary School which became one of Florida's largest elementary schools with enrollments exceeding 3200 students each year from 1927 through 1931 inclusiveة In 1933-1934, during Franklin D Roosevelt's presidency changes took place at Floridas statewide government including passage of constitutional amendment providing for direct election of governors instead of staggered terms etc., this event occurring just prior to Franklin D Roosevelts inauguration as President effective January 20th 1933 After serving two terms as Superintendent/headmaster at Roosevelt (1933- 1934), Dr JH Donnelly , current CEO Northrop Grumman Corporation] assumed duties on October 1st 1935 after being selected unanimously by both houses of State Legislature following special session convened due to World War II mobilizations taking place throughout mainland United States
