In 2009, Stefanie Meyer opened her own business called Cup of Joe’s Coffee Roasters. She began making small batch versions of her favorite coffees, including Koffee Klatch and Two Hands Breakfast Stout, which she sold at Cup of Joe’s Café until 2012 when she moved to a new location on Third Street near Porter School for Girls. Now that Cup of Joe’s Coffee Roasters has been open for over two years, it is home to one of the largest small batch coffee programs in the Southeast United States. Every day during Lent, they roast new batches of their signature roasts using only 100% Arabica beans from Guatemala City, Guatemala. These unique blends are then packaged and sent directly to customers throughout St Petersburg through their online store or at local cafes around town. Koffee Klatch continued to serve up its famous morning cup of java until its closure in 2017; however, Stefanie Meyer continues to sell her delicious cups direct through her website as well as at local cafes across town. In 2018, Stefanie reopened Koffee Klatch as a pop-up cafe located inside Secondhand Shop on First Street near Porter School for Girls (now known as Soulard). She offers a variety of different drinks such as latte artichoke dip or macaroni & cheese with bacon bits (which are now vegan!). In 1827, Starke moved his blacksmithing business from Indian Passetown to what is today downtown Saint Petersburg and began construction on what would become one of America's first commercial steamboats, TheStarke (built 1828). This included both neighborhoods that are still constituting much parts of downtown Saint Petersburg - Scandinavian Parkto the east and Plantation Row to the west - as well as newer neighborhoods such as Midtown West and Midtown East within walking distance of each other across Grays Boulevard (now Busch Gardens Boulevard). During this period there were also major improvements made to local public transportation including a streetcar system called "The Trolley" which served downtown from 1865 until it was replaced by buses in 1907; a network of monorail lines connecting downtown with Ybor City; and opening in 1904 of one of America's first light rail systems, nicknamed "The Loop." Growth continued rapidly after World War II with suburban developments coming offthe property surrounding Downtown Saint Petersburg while more than 1 million people were added to metropolitan areas nationwide during that decade alone. However, growth slowed following The Great Recession beginning in 2007 and continuing into 2009 before accelerating again during President Obama's administration initiatives known as "The Recovery."
