In the 1940s, the United States Navy deployed gift giving to its sailors and marines stationed in Sunny Isles Beach, Florida. The town was an important stop on the Overseas Expeditionary Force (OEF) during World War II and many of America's most famous military figures were born or raised here. In 1922, HMS "Osprey" dockside at Sunny Isles to moor with US Navy destroyers for training exercises. These days, USS "Miami" docked side by side with USS "Fort Lauderdale" at this location. During World War II, Naval Station Palm Beach closed its doors due to lack of space but was reopened in 1945 as Naval Station Miami after American forces liberated Europe from Nazi Germany. From then until 1961, Naval Station Miami served as the main naval station located outside of Orlando, Florida. In 1946-47, Naval Station Miami's primary function became providing command and control of Marine detachments assigned to various amphibious warfare operations throughout Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War. After months of planning and execution by Rear Admiral John Foulke III commanding Naval Base Miami's Amphibious Combat Unit (ACU), Operation Neptune Spear resulted in one of history's greatest amphibious victories when UDT 548 stormed ashore against superior North Vietnamese forces on July 30th 1969 beaches within sight of Saigon city limits- less than two weeks before South Vietnamese President Nguyen Van Thieu stepped down following his secret agreement with communist Chinese troops that allowed them to take over Saigon unconditionally! After more than 50 years of continuous responsibility for marine gifts given back to our service members stationed here at Sunny Isles Beach USA - it is safe to say that they will always be remembered!

Sunny Isles Beach is bordered by Biscayne Bay to the east, the Everglades to the south and west, and Coral Gables to the north. Although Sunny Isles Beach has been around since 1868 when it was known as "Hollywood," it only became a major attraction after developers built two luxurious hotels on Collins Avenue: The Breakers and The Sands of Avalon in 1925 and 1926 respectively. In 1928, Sunrise Boulevard was established as a main thoroughfare through town connecting these two hotels with each other and with nearby Marlin Key Lagoon. In 1957, Sunrise Boulevard was rerouted eastward along US 1 so that it would run parallel to Interbay Drive which served as both a shopping street for residents of adjacent cities such as Homestead Heights/ Overtown and Coconut Creek/Stuarttown before finally terminating at Biscayne Bay beyond what is now Sunnyside Boulevard . Today Sunrise Boulevard continues into today's businesses areas including Pompano Beach and Kendall Park where Interstate 95 meets US 1B just south of Pompano Beach Blvd.. As development progressed throughout much of South Miami-Dade County over time there were attempts by local business people or politicians to name their community Sunrise Beaches because this routing made sense geographically speaking - sunnah meaning "the way things are" in Arabic - but no one ever got around to actually doing it! Consequently we continue today with our unofficial nicknames... like... Sunset Strip ... Elegant Grounds ... Golden Nugget .... etc!

Sunny Isles Beach is a community located in Miami-Dade County, Florida. It was founded on August 15, 1928 by the Sunny Isles Beach Chamber of Commerce and School District. The name derives from two words – "sunshine" and "isles". Today, Sunny Isles Beach has a population of over 82,000 people. The first settlers to the area were farmers who arrived in 1875. By 1925, Sunny Isles had become an important resort town due to its clear waters and beautiful beaches. In 1933, Sunny Isles Beach became part of Miami-Dade County and was renamed for United States Congressman Alcee Hastings (D-FL). The community experienced rapid growth during World War II as soldiers used the beaches for training and relaxation. In 1945, Hurricane Dora caused widespread damage to the town, but it reopened within a few months with help from federal troops. From 1948 through 1957, Sunny Isle beach underwent several reclamation projects that increased its size by more than 50%. In 1960, Hurricane Flora struck the area and destroyed many homes and businesses; however, Sunny Isles beach reopened within a few weeks with help from local firefighters. In 1978-1979, Sunrise Boulevard was built as part of Mayor Carlos Gimenez's plan to improve public transportation in Miami-Dade County. The $2 million project replaced streetlights with lighted signs that announce buses arrival or departures at different intervals throughout the night. The project also added new sidewalks and improved infrastructure such as water mains and sewer lines. This addition helped bring much needed traffic relief to Sunset Coast Road which had been closed since 1966 due to faulty construction materials used in the project by then-Mayor Joe Carollo (R). After years of development progressivism led by Mayor Oscar Bracamonte (1975–1981), Sunrise Boulevard was finished in 1981 as one of Mayor Carlos Gimenez's most ambitious mayoral initiatives ever - his last before he resigned amid corruption charges related to his personal finances while he served as mayoralty president from 1984 until 1989 . It featured widened shoulders along either side of I‐5 which opened up more land for development; this too helped spur heavy real estate investment across both sections between Westchester Drive/Sunny Side Avenue southward into Kendall Center eastward across Lincoln Road/University Drive into downtown Miami Our Lady Of Peace Parish moved its church out of state location onto Sunrise Boulevard just northwest of I‐5 / Palm Bay Parkway where it still resides today
