Soon after they settled there they planted orchards that produced oranges that would fetch high prices at marketplaces across America. As this industry began to grow more difficult due to changing climate conditions it was necessary for these pioneer families To find new ways to make money so they could keep their homes and continue producing fruit even during difficult times! One such solution was setting up businesses side by side with their Oranges! This type of business arrangement allowed these entrepreneurs not only survive but also thrive during tough times – something that is still seen today throughout the community! During World War II some residents decided that moving away from theirOranges wasn’t an option since it would be difficult enough living without them; instead they formed committees which bought other farmlands around town so that we could produce food for our servicemen! Many people are still proud “Warrior Families” who have fought shoulder-to-shoulder with our military men and women all over America! Today we know them as “Riflemans” because no matter what happens on earth outside our gates we will always remember those brave individuals who put Their lives on hold just so we could eat our favorite food!
Sunrise, Florida was founded on November 12th, 1879 by Manuel Rivera. The town of Sunrise was built around a lumberyard and river access. In the early years, Sunrise had a small population of about seventy-five people and was primarily a agricultural community. However, over time, the town began to grow and develop into a rural community with 300 citizens in 1900. In 1907, sunrise became the first municipality in Broward County when it was created from land that had been annexed by Fort Lauderdale. The following year, the city of Sunrise joined Broward County as part of an effort to form an open-air county courthouse system in Florida. That same year saw the opening of one of the most important businesses in Sunrise - The Riviera Hotel - which quickly became an important tourist attraction for residents and visitors alike. Over time, sunrise grew increasingly suburban and developed into what is now known as one of South Florida's most affluent communities with large homes and prestigious schools. Today, sunrise remains an important cultural center for its region and continues to be home to some of South Florida's best restaurants and shopping malls.
