There is no doubt that coffee has a long and venerable history in Sweetwater, Florida. The town was founded in 1892 by two pioneers, John C. Whitaker and his wife, Anna Whitaker, as a post office on the banks of the Stonington River. In 1925, Sweetwater became an independent city and its first mayor, A.J. Sawaya, served for more than twenty years until he was replaced by Harry Voelker in 1971. Sweetwater, Florida is a small town in Polk County, Florida, United States. The population was 2,987 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Fort Walton Beach–Boca Raton Metropolitan Statistical Area. The land that makes up Sweetwater was first settled by men from Georgia in 1836. A post office called Sweetwater was established in 1840, and remained in operation until 1907. In 1868, the townsite of Sweetwater was annexed to Fort Walton Beach. In 1905, the US Army Corps of Engineers began construction on what would become known as "The Panama Canal". Because of this project and other initiatives led by President Theodore Roosevelt, Sweetwater developed into a busy commercial center with warehouses and businesses catering to soldiers and their families stationed along America's southern border. By 1912, however, the city's growth had stalled due to low production levels for local products combined with an increased demand for goods produced elsewhere in Florida or Mexico. In 1932, after years of lobbying by its mayor and citizens, the US Coast Guard designated Sweetwater an exclusive port for strength-training purposes only; no industry could participate without prior permission from the Coast Guard. This policy helped spur development within the fishing community around Port Everglades while also increasing cargo throughputs through The Panama Canal which made it possible for more people to live near Miami without having to leave their homes In 1967 sweet water Harbor opened up when seaway bridge were built across bay

Sweetwater is a town in Alachua County, Florida, United States. The population was 4,813 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford Metropolitan Statistical Area. Sweetwater is located on State Road 812, about 33 miles (57 km) south-southwest of Orlando and 47 miles (76 km) north-northwest of Gainesville. In 1837, a group of settlers founded the town on land that currently comprises the eastern edge of Sweetwater Reservoir. The first settler to arrive in what would become Sweetwater was John Hodge in 1839. By 1840, there were 9 residents living in Sweetwater Township alone; by 1850, this had grown to 25 residents. In 1854, George Winton donated 500 acres (2 ha) of his farmsteads east of present-day Main Street to the township for use as a school district; Sweetwater School District No. 1 was established soon afterward. In 1860, sweet water became known as "The Watertown" due to its location near Fort Walton Beach on both its banks – within easy walking distance for many people at the time. As more and more settlers arrived in sweet water during these years it became an important stop on stagecoaches from Jacksonville and Tampa to Immokalee and Daytona Beach respectively. A post office called "Sweetwater" was established in 1862; it continued operation until 1907. In 1865, when state Roads 812 and 594 were created through Alachua County as part of Reconstruction efforts after the American Civil War ended,[1] Sweetwater became one of six townships within Alachua County immediately east thereof.[2] A year later it lost all its community control when county commissioners took over all local government functions within their respective jurisdictions under new Alabama Constitution provisions effective November 6th,. On December 15th 1915 a large fire destroyed most or all buildings including churches and schools in Sweetwater Township while causing no injuries[3][4]. This event has been referred to as "The Great Fire". Reconstruction efforts finally started up again with help from Federal troops arriving January 3rd 1916[5], which eventually led to widespread development throughoutSweetWater Township which finished two years later with incorporation into Orange COUNTY on January 14th 1917 via Act No., ??1917.[6] At this time there were now 100+ inhabitantsto what would becomeSweetWater today! Although annexation attempts had been made before 1917 it wasn’t until 1920 when federal funding began flowing that annexation could be accomplished makingSweetWater official annexation date!

Grant on November 6, 1882 caused deep personal anguish throughout America and beyond; his funeral took place two days later at Goodspeed Cemetery in Baltimore City with wide attendance by American presidents and other notable people including Queen Victoria of England., one year after his death on October 14th due to pneumonia contracted during his African Expedition
