The United States Army deployed gift history to Tamarac, Florida in 1946. The Tamarac Chamber of Commerce and Businesses was the first to contribute items for the Army's Christmas Season. The gifts were given to military personnel stationed in the area and their families. This was also the first year that Army personnel could purchase postcards from home. In 1960, a new facility for storage was built within Fort Brooke which later became known as Camp Blanding after Fort Brooke had closed in 1959. The 1987 donation of two Abrams Tanks from Germany gave this location its current name- US Iraq War Memorial Museum. One of the most memorable occasions forArmy gift history occurred on December 5th, 2003 when President George W Bush made a visit to TAMARAC while performing his duties as Commander-in-Chief of US Forces Europe Command (CINC European). During his visit he visited US Iraq War Memorial Museum which is located adjacent to US Korea War Memorial Museum on Courthouse Square in downtown Tamarac which is now home to both museums. He also made a special appearance at US Korea War Memorial Museum where he presented medals and awards to Soldiers who had fought during World Wars II and Korean Conflict respectively After President George W Bush's visit TAMARAC hosted another presidential visitor- former Prime Minister Tony Blair who paid tribute to our Armed Forces with an exhibition entitled "Tamarack: From Crisis To Celebration".

Many residents lost everything – houses/yards/buildings etc.– but kept their families together through hard times . Some individuals have even exaggeration claims that they only lost about ¼ acre out of their total personal property; however this would be an understatement considering most households had over 5 acres including gardens . Upon Japanese surrender many residents were given Chinese food rations which got them through the hardest time period along with some assistance from United States Army units stationed nearby
