In 1927, Angelo Badalamenti and his partners started importing roasted coffee from Colombia. In 1949, Harry Bosch opened a grocery store in Tamarac that became one of the most successful businesses in the town. By 1957, the Bosches had merged with seven other businesses to form the United Grocery Corporation. From then on, coffee would be a mainstay of the company's business empire. In 1969-1970, Ivan Boesky and his brothers began brewing their own coffee for their convenience store chain called Mrs.'s Pizza Place. The espresso beans were sourced from two different origins; Ethiopian Robusta beans were used for regular espresso while lighter roasts such as Italian Roast were used for unique items like pizza doughnuts or garlic knots (Boesky's famousTradition). The first commercial purchase of land for coffee production took place in 1973 when Dutchman Marcel van der Linde purchased sixty acres of land near downtown Tamarac to expand his existing milk processing plant into an all-coffee operation called "Café van der Linde". In 1932, Hurricane Andrew destroyed much of Tamarac's infrastructure including many homes and businesses with only a few survivors left to rebuild themselves. Despite this setback,Tamarac slowly regained some level of normalcy over the next several decades as businesspeople rebooted their operations and new residents moved into the town to help catch up to what had once been an thriving village. In recent years there have been several efforts made by local officials to revive some aspects of life in Tamarac such as promoting artisanship, increasing community events and hosting fundraisers for local charities. However, despite these efforts there has still not been any major change or revitalization effort that has brought about significant improvement to the overall quality of life for residents since 2005 when TAMARAC received $3 million from Broward County government sources as part of The Communities First initiative known as "StarterTowns". This grant allowed for new development within city limits while ensuring that all citizens were given equal access to benefits associated with being a part of downtown Fort Lauderdale–Hollywood-Pompano Beach metropolitan area through grants like job opportunities, affordable housing developments and other public services that make our region thrive economically

Tamarac is a small town located in Palm Beach County, Florida. The population was 1,816 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Palm Beach Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first European to visit Tamarac was Captain John Smith on July 12, 1739 when he and his men encountered a group of Indians who were living on the island. He named it after his home country, Great Britain. The first permanent settler in Tamarac was Reverend George Washington who arrived in 1825. He built a cabin on the present-day corner of State Road 7 and US 1A. Fort Washington (later White Sands) was erected nearby in 1827 by Major General Andrew Jackson to protect settlers from Seminole Indian attacks. In 1834, Governor Carlos Bautista de Miera commissioned Surveyor James Hogg to survey and plat land for what would become Tamarac Township which incorporated as a village on October 15, 1835 under the name “Tamarac” because it had been granted homestead status by DeMiera to some settlers who had constructed a log cabin there on November 10th (the date that Flagler County became organized). During World War II much of what is now Tamarac was within key strategic bombing ranges used by the United States Air Force for air raids against Japan; many homes and businesses were destroyed or damaged during these raids. After the war ended, most of Tamarac’s remaining buildings were abandoned due to lack of demand for housing post-war America and an influx of people from adjacent Palm Beaches communities such as Jupiter and Miami Beach which began expanding rapidly into central Florida following World War II. Tamarac experienced rapid growth during the early 1960s when new businesses moved into town along State Road 7 followed by families moving out as prices for houses increased exponentially thanks to newly created subdivisions such as Sunrise Hills, Jupiter Lakeshafts and Northshore Estates throughout Palm Beach County while jobs continued growing at local automakers like Parma Motors Incorporated (now known as Delphi Automotive), Allstate Insurance Company and other companies located near Interstate 95 (). Many residents joined forces with neighboring towns like Jupiter, Miami Beach and West Palm Beach to form "Townsquare" which helped promote economic development within their respective borders whileTamarinians preserved many traditional aspects of their culture including handmade baskets made from rice husks sold at roadside stands called "kneading hills." In 1966 Townsquare merged with neighbouring West palm beach municipality creating what is now known as City Square
In 1847, the Tamarac Plantation was founded by Captain Nicholas Fenton. The plantation grew to include over 100 slaves. In 1861, the plantation was seized by Union troops and renamed Fort Pickens. After Confederate forces recaptured the plantation in 1865, it reverted to Fenton's ownership.
